Man what a story. The snapper is so unappreciated until they mess up and then people hate them.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - Calvin Coolidge

We had a now semi famous deep snapper. He was a former navy seal and pretty old when he came. NFL scouts told him he looked older than most. Then, he went and had discussions with Kaepernick during that controversial matter. He’s since been in a few films.
Long snapper is definitely important.

What is meant by “short snapper on special teams”? Or is this a typo?

Saw an opportunity he wanted and seized it. Job well done. Uncertain if long snappers are allowed to be hit today. I know The Fridge could wreck long snappers and centers. Broke the legs of two Wake centers in 1st half of a game in early 80's.

Snappers also have a good shot at long NFL careers. They don’t make as much as a good back up QB, but even NFL minimum wage is greater than most people ever make. They have chances of injury, but not as much as some positions There’s a guy from here where I live that was a highly sought DE in high school, but he became a snapper and had a long NFL career with the Colts and even earned a Super Bowl ring
