Dabo is a Clemson lifer...

All the talk about Bama etc needs to stop. I dont post much and catch heat because of the 2 schools I graduated from one happens to be of lesser strength in football and I tend to pull for the underdog. I still know one of the most beautiful places in the country is the campus of Clemson University.
I cant think of another coach who loves their university more than Dabo. He seems to genuinely love the atmosphere, location, etc.
Some schools offer a great team and history but are not in a great place. Think Michigan, Ohio St, some like Austin, Clemson, Athens, even Oregon, offer an incredible scenic area and lifestyle that certain people can appreciate.
Say you are managing or owning a midsized company in Greenville, SC and you take it to elite national status and have offers to run major companies across the nation. Why would one move to NY, LA, Chicago for something others have their hands on and hundreds or thousands of people are telling you what you should do or how to run it successfully?
Dabo has brought Clemson to national prominence, why would one leave? Sure he has Bama to fall back on eventually. Some people in business and coaching (which is more of a business than people would like to think) can see the benefit of staying put and enjoying the success rather than seeing how green the grass is somewhere else.
Dabo has worked hard but he is not under the pressure of a Bama or Michigan and never will be. He can enjoy his success. Have you heard Saban rip fans and media when he goes 10-2 and doesn't win it all?
I think Richt would have stayed at UGA forever, I think Dabo is similar except Clemson fans will never run him off or treat him like UGA treated Richt. I hope he does well at the U.

I can't image Dabo ever getting that complacent.

I see what you are saying but I meant more as a person who loves his team and the area. Richt is still thought of as a great leader of men and a solid Christian man. This is from who matters, the players!
That was more of the comparison. They are nothing alike on the field. Richt is much more experienced and has a different demeanor. Nothing better or worse, just different.

Richt couldn't carry Dabo's bags as a leader

not even close. I'm sure Richt is a good man and shares Christian beliefs with Dabo no doubt. However, Richt did less with more talent at UGa than arguably anyone in the nation and in my opinion, was over his head as a head coach there for years. Being a good man and being Christian doesn't make you a leader. Richt never had anywhere near Dabo's fire or passion and the off the field crap at UGa that was out of control for years was a direct reflection on his leadership. Tommy Bowden allowed a lot of riff raff inside the program at Clemson and we underachieved. Richt did the same and underachieved year after year. I totally get the premise of your first post but the Richt/Dabo issue is totally off base to me. Dabo is a pure bred leader of young men. Richt is probably a good man who was an average, at best, HC and leader.

I don't like how people talk as if he is gone to Bama for sure if they come calling. I think dabo loves and appreciates Bama as his past but he knows Clemson is his present and future. He has built something his own at Clemson

Very similar paths , Danny and Dabo . Both very young former Alabama players who took over at Clemson under trying circumstances. Both succeeded early and both built Clemson into a nationally prominent position . When I think about the Dabo leaving talk ...I remember to remind myself that Danny Ford still lives local to Clemson and still involves himself in the Tiger community. CU left him , but he didn't leave them . Dabo strikes me as the same type of guy , faithful and honorable .

I don't know what midsize company in Greenville you are referring to, but with that kind of success why leave?

They should move. There are to many medical offices in Greenville.
