QB of the future

I know we have Bryant and Israel who, by now, have a deep knowledge of the playbook and understand what we're trying to do on offensive. And so know C. Bruce is no careless whisper himself either. Honestly though, I think it's gonna come down to Z. Cooper or H. Johnson. To me, Johnson seems like the most college- ready QB coming in that is only going to refine his skills more- and Cooper seems like the most freakishly athletic QB with a potentially huge upside. What about y'all? Who do you see eventually taking over the reins from DW4 as the QB of the future?

I'm guessing likely Cooper initially, Brice will likely redshirt, Johnson possibly could end up on depth chart. Depends what they do with Bryant...but with Copper having more time in the system itself that we run, we'll likely get the nod over Johnson unless Johnson literally makes it hard for them to keep him there.

Cooper then Johnson, then 2018 qb from Dorchester High?

However, Chase looks really good too! We may have another situation like with Kelly, however these guys look more mature and will be able to handle it better?

Yes it is going to most likely be Cooper and then Joyner after. Who knows though Brice and Johnson can both sling it and seem to run the read option pretty well.

D. Joyner, and I hope you are right.
I'm excited to see if Kelly Bryant can take that next step and really grab the reigns as the best QB and leader after #4 moves on to be the #1 overall pick

Isn't the Fort D kid too small? More of a receiver/D Back?

QBU, WRU, TEU, OLU, DLU, DBU, RBU, LBU, WBU...all we need is STU (Special Teams U) and we have a sweep.

If they are afraid of competion or not patient to wait their

turn, then we do not want them. There will be overlapping and a couple may have to be patient to wait until they are seniors to start. Cooper(2016), Hunter(2017), Joyner(2018) (Or Brice redshirt 2017))? "Not afraid of competition" is actually Joyner's quote who models his game after DeShaun and is friend/former teammate of John Simpson, who is enrolling this fall.

You're absolutely right. It's just crazy how much talent we have... I cannot imagine a drop-off in our program for many years to come, if ever. Every day it seems I'm reading another "clemson offers consensus 4-star...", when most teams have put recruiting on the back burner already. Just crazy.

Very true. I am also wondering about the 2018 kid out of GA if I'm not mistaken. I know he was on UT's must have list but he seemed to like us as well. Can't recall his name right now, but the kid is a pure stud.

Just looked him up, Trevor Lawrence. 24/7 says he's a UT/UGA lean, but he is as good of a young QB as I have seen in years.

I agree 100% & I can't really make a prediction because Hunter Johnson is more ready, but Z Cooper had immense talent. I could see either one being our guy, but because Cooper looks like he will take a BIG step up I just can't tell.
GREAT SITUATION THOUGH
I like Kelly Bryant, but imo he just doesn't display what it takes to be proficient enough in the passing game with all of the WR's we have. He needs to play in an offense like Auburn's or GaTech or somewhere similar in order to play to his skillset. Needs the right fit imo.

It's kind of a crazy situation. Most likely Cooper will redshirt this year since he wasn't an early enrollee. So next year he should be ready to take over, and I think he will be the guy in 2017. I'm pretty sure Brice and Johnson will enroll early, and I'm thinking if Cooper is the man, they will likely redshirt. So that only leaves them one year apart. In that situation, if Cooper plays 4 years, Brice and Johnson will only have one year to play. I don't think that will work for them.
So if that happens I see someone transferring, if not both of them. How could two qb's with that much talent sit until their senior year? Basically they would just be sitting on the bench waiting for Cooper to get hurt or fail, if they stayed at Clemson. And that's not even including the 2018 qb we are supposed to get, who I think is going to be a dw-like qb. So who the #### knows what's going to happen, too many crazy situations.

They are like "Hey, since your loaded, if your not using him, could you let us borrow Nick Schuessler for the season?" Oh wait, they have a kid that should be a HS senior enrolling as their savior and the other guy who can't hit a curve. In fairness however, the balls were thrown to the actual strike zone, which is over his head.

Competiton is what you want. You want those kids to push each other and bring the absolute best out of each other. Brings out the best in everyone around them also.
If Swag Kelly wouldn't have messed up over and over, he could have started the one season and then Watson would have taken over. Watson could have developed that whole season physically and possibly avoided some injuries. And we never would have had to watch Cole Stoudt. That QB competition could have been really fun to watch, but Kelly made it easy for everyone and then Dabo tried to convince everyone that Cole "gives us the best chance to win". Still wish we would have had a real QB to go with that defense, that was a national championship team with a division 3 QB, and I can assure you that coaching staff will never let that happen again

I wasn't saying competition was bad. I was just saying there is going to be lots of talent sitting on the bench until their senior year if the situation plays out the way I said. It's definitely a good problem to have. However I don't see both of those top qb's staying and waiting for their turn to play in their senior year. Most likely one if not both would transfer, if the situation I was talking about happens, which is purely hypothetical.

It depends on two things 1: does KB2 improve his arm enough to work the offense. If yes to 1, can Cooper beat him out? If no to 1, Cooper takes over and then... 2: can Cooper fend off Johnson
