Question about generators for tailgating...

I am in the market for a generator and was wondering what brand and size to get. I plan to run lights, radio and a blender, and plan to invest in a tailgator dish and tv for next season.
I could probably get by with 1000W this year but am concerned that it won't be enough power next year. Thoughts? Suggestions?

If you will be tailgating at you vehicle, consider installing a power inverter in your car- it's less expensive and (usually) quieter. When I was the Tailgate Show technical director they asked me to supply a generator power backup for the show and, instead, I bought a 4000 watt inverter for $160 on ebay and never looked back.

Suggestion: Go ahead and get the Honda EU2000i.
You also might want to consider getting a 2013 BMW X5 in white with the M sport package and the third row. That will greatly improve your experience with the tailgator dish and TV investment for next season.

Or maybe one with a cash cow built in. Get your generator. I'm predicting lots of power outages in the future so we'll need it. A tiger win will help with this too. So get your tiger on and do the WIN dance.

Get a 2000w over the 1000w. I had a 1000 and upgraded to a 2000 this year. It uses less fuel than the 1000 because it doesn't have to work as hard most of the time.
I would recommend the Yamaha over the Honda. They run longer on the same amount of fuel, they are quieter, they are linkable (not all Hondas are), they have metal camshaft vs plastic, they are a couple lbs. lighter and they are rated higher according to the CARB rating (engine life rating).

had and still use a variety of Honda engines on large generators, pressure washers, and even some smaller lawnmower engines. Nothing wrong with any over the last 10-15 years. That said, I think the Yamaha portable generators are a better buy both price-wise and efficiency. Just my take.

Add up the wattage you need (from the power label on each device) and add a safety factor and expansion factor. Honda's quieter but expensive. You generally get what you pay for.

We have a E2000 at our tailgate and run a big screen tv, couple crock pots, a warming tray, and sometimes a griddle and you can't even hear it over the tv, highly recommend the Honda, initial cost is expensive but it is well worth it
