except Jack. Left him in 3 batters too long and a slam was the result. We all could smell it. Even my wife made a comment " the pitcher looks tired", and she know as much about baseball as my 5 year old.

I dont disagree but 5 innings? He should be able to go longer than that typically. Is that some early season deal or what? Does he have to pitch himself into shape?

point is pal- if he is pitching properly he goes more innings with that number of pitches. long counts and getting behind to hitters happened a lot last night.

If we had a 3 run lead in the 9th and Gossett was pitching a 2 hitter, Jack would've taken him out. New pitcher would've promptly walked the first two batters he faced. Sound familiar? Happens every year all year. Why does he do this? Because Jack wants to show all you people that he is the smartest guy in the ballpark.
He doesn't recognize when a guy is gassed. When a guy just doesn't have it that day (walks). Or when a guy is in the zone and should be left alone.
This theme will repeat all year so I figured I would go ahead and get my yearly rant out of the way. Go Tigers! Go win the next two!

Great post!!!! And how hard would it be to find a pitching coach. Our relief pitching is beyond pathetic. Those dish rag arms will cost this team a bunch of games. Wait and see Jack will screw this season up like the last 6.
