Rece Davis goes out of his way to emphasize that Clemson
Nov 9, 2022, 9:31 AM

is done ...
when in fact, at the end of the season, when all the games are played, 1-loss teams are ALWAYS a part of the conversation.
Almost seems like he has an agenda.

I really just watch the games, often times with the sound turned off.

Seriously...I wish they had a broadcast with just the Stadium Noise such that you can still hear the announcer... would be so much more enjoyable and I could get analysis after the game if I wanted elsewhere

Back in the 80’s when I had the 10’ satellite dish, you could move the frequency to tune out the noise (talk) and just hear the crowd. Was neat. Also you could do NASCAR. That was wild!

I'm guessing by "done" he means he doesn't think we will have experienced our only loss this season.

Sad to say but we have not shown we are championship material. We do not have a generational qb which is needed.

We don't need a generational quarterback

We just need a consistently competent quarterback. Generational would be great, but consistent is typically sufficient when you have so many weapons around him.

Weapons? I’m not seeing that many weapons. In my opinion there are only 3. Shipley, Antonio Williams, and Davis Allen. That’s it.

QB IS the problem. WR is ANOTHER problem. I guarantee you put a halfway decent QB in there that can make some reads and get rid of the ball with some accuracy, these WRs would look at least much better. I’m not saying they are anywhere close to the days of old, but they aren’t as bad as the QB is.

I would not say they are generational but Stroud and Williams are elite Duggan lights up the scoreboard every week Hookers play is a big reason TN is in the mix Bennett makes play when he has to Drake Maye is the only reason UNC has only lost one game. He is certainly generational talent for UNC and he needed a redshirt year.

for being a consensus preseason top 5 team and playoff contender, only to disappoint and fall short of those predictions.
Sure, we could make the playoffs this year, but it’s unlikely.

So as not to be an anonymous downvoter, I want to let you know I gave that phrase a thumbs down. Feel free to hit me as well if i misunderstood your intentions, but that's lazy and ridiculous. We had the longest winning streak in the nation. We have the current longest winning streak at home. Are we a playoff team this year? I don't think so but we're still a better program that 95% of the country has in this down year.
Dabo will make the adjustments needed, and i hope we start this week.
Go Tigers.

What adjustments is he going to make? Since you seem to know this, what are they? Maybe the Defensive play is improved, but the offense looks dead in the water to me. And Louisville has been playing much better defense. What is he going to do to get points and production?

He is correct. This team us not CFP material. It’s been obvious all season. Let’s win out, win the ACC, and a NY Day Bowl and it will have been a great season.

Imo, we're done. I hope so, I hate the thought of our playoff system putting us in at #4 as the sacrificial lamb for the SECCCG winner.
We've seen OSU OU and Oregon seeded and being blown out in the first round and we've been there and done that. Football is suppose to be fun, their ain't no fun in embarrassment.

At this point, I'm not worried about ESPN's take.

#1) I think the committee has shown that they are not swayed by the talking heads. Thus the outrage every time a ranking comes out.
#2) We do indeed have quite the uphill battle if anyone thinks the playoffs are still in the picture. A lot would have to happen. We've dug that hole ourselves.
#3) If we keep playing as we have played, I'm not sure it's the best thing that we limp into the playoffs. If this game is the wake-up call this team (players and coaches) need, a la Pitt a few years back, then we can worry about getting a spot in the final four.

If we keep playing the way we have been playing, we will lose 2 more games and will be playing in the Cheez-t Bowl again.

I realize we can ignore ESPN and Fox Sports and 24/7 and all the others all we want, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t filling the airwaves and social media content that recruits are listening to.
Hence why it does matter… unfortunately.

Redemptioning Reece Davis, I would stop them and throw a hand full of metal shavings in his pooper and then tell them to carry on.
