Just to confirm it here, IF the ball is punched out

before Collins crosses the goal line and then proceeds to go out of the end zone, this is a TURNOVER and Charleston Southern has the ball at the 20 yard line?

Is this correct?

If so, I hope this is clear to Collins, lest he thinks that the worst that could happen is Clemson gets the ball at the 1 yard line.

As poor as his hands often are he should be very appreciative they throw to him at all.

The worst that could have happened was

him getting injured on the tackle when he shouldn't have been hit at all.

It depends on who forced the ball into the end zone. If Collins dropped the ball and it went out of the back of the end zone it’s a touchback and would have been CS’s ball on the 20. If with punching the ball technically the force was still Collins carrying it towards the end zone so it still would have been a touchback.

If Collins would have say fumbled on the 5 and a CS player tried to pick it up and in doing so caused it to go out of the back of the end zone it would have been a safety.

“ If a ball is fumbled in a team's own end zone or in the field of play and goes out of bounds in the end zone, it is a safety, if that team provided the impetus that sent the ball into the end zone (See 11-5-1 for exception for momentum). If the impetus was provided by the opponent, it is a touchback.”

Receivers are generally dipshitters by nature

Even NFL players haven't learned this lesson. Danny woulda took him to "the farm" and fixed this.

That play showed me a lot. Entitled player more interested in showboating than giving the team a much needed spark. It should never happen but you at least have to earn the right to do that. He should be benched against Fl Atlantic for at least the 1st qtr. This team needs leadership.
