Reid Starting Tonight

Kinda nervous about Reid starting tonight considering he has been pretty erratic this year. Anyone else have concerns?

We may see a bullpen type game but I would rather save arms for this weekend. I think we may see Ammons back this weekend along with Tallent, Barlow, Lindley etc.

Considering it’ll be pitch by committee most likely anyways I’m not quite as concerned. He will be on a very short leash. I studied Georgia’s lineup to see if they are lefty heavy and they aren’t. 3 lefties in the starting lineup. I couldn’t find any advanced statistics on their hitters to see their avg’s vs RHP and LHP. Sometimes the lefty righty matchup can be overrated. Right hand batters tend to struggle with LHP changeups down and in on their back foot. We will see if Rocco can command that pitch tonight

Coach Belanger loves lefties that work down in the zone. We will see how he develops him. With the talent in the roster and talent we can recruit and get in transfer portal I’ll be surprise if he’s ever more than a situational lefty for the weekend. Who knows though. This weekday start is already a step up

This is why I wasn’t too worried about Reid. If Weiss can get this out then he gave up 1 run in 3 innings. That’s 3 big innings that the bulllpen doesn’t have to pitch. Granted they’ve been better and Reid (starter) is typically a bullpen guy, it’s still a matter of get what you can get out of them. Tbh 4 compete innings would’ve been a solid outing for Reid. He’s not the pitcher you want the lineup to see twice even though he has 3 pitches. He’s not overpowering and he’s pretty predictable.
