Restaurants in Charlotte?

Starting to think about next weekend. Any folks familiar with Charlotte have any restaurant suggestions? I will need something somewhat kid friendly since my nephews will be there (13 and 12 years old).
Thanks!

I seriously hope you’re joking. Charlotte has an awesome restaurant scene. Just hit up Yelp for suggestions. NoDa, plaza midwood, and south end have the majority of the top restaurants

I have only been here a year and I can not even find a good slice of pizza, let alone decent Italian or seafood. Having lived in Los angeles and outside of Boston, I guess it is a tough comparison.

Well that explains your point of view more to me and makes sense knowing where you're coming from. I guess just keep trying places and hopefully you find some you like. At least the local brewing scene is realling coming along if you're a craft beer fan.

oh yeah, brew scene it pretty good. And I have not really been out much here, just gone to a handful of places coworkers have recommended. I have yet to even venture to the north side of town since I arrived. There is some decent Thai here though.

I try to stop at mid wood smokehouse anytime I pass through Charlotte. Great bbq and amazing bacon wrapped jalepeños.

I'll second this suggestion. midwood is also a good BBQ place. That and Jim N Nick's are my favorite here. If you like fish camps, look up Captain Steve's in Fort Mill, off Carowinds Blvd. Best and most popular one in the area.

My kids like the Diamond Restaurant -- they have great fried

Lupie's is a neat little restaurant on Monroe Rd not far from Uptown:
https://www.lupiescafe.net/
There's a Steak 'n Shake on South Blvd near 485 right beside the beginning of the Lynx line (light rail).
If all else fails take your nephews to the Tilted Kilt (S Tryon St and Carowinds Blvd)
You could try asking this again during a workday when more people are online.

Try Taven On The Tracks, great football atmosphere but we haven’t been there for food in a while. Last time we ate there it was good.

Bad Daddy’s is good for burgers, fries & salads. Good beer selection and a good number of locations.

We live in the area and visit Pinky’s regularly. It’s close to downtown and my kids love it. Be sure to get them some banana pudding if you go.

As posted earlier Pinkys, Midwood Smokehouse and Macs Speed shop are all good. There is Mellow mushroom downtown and close to the stadium. The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery has great food and good beer, also is very kid friendly.

If you are in town before 3 pm Friday (not open weekends) the BEST burger joint is Brooks sandwich house on N Brevard, Diamond is a place I could vouch for back in the day for lunch/dinner too. Mac's Speedshop has solid smokehouse food and good craft beer but I prefer Midwood smokehouse, multiple locations. I like Wolfman and Brixx for pizza. Duckworths has really good cheesesteaks and other bar food, tv's, great craft beer selection....depends what your looking for...either way have a great trip to my old stomping grounds!

Prices Chicken Coop is definitely the best fried chicken in town. You can call ahead and pick it up if you are tailgating. Since you have the kids, you may want to try Pikes Old Fashion Soda Shop. It is in South End, not too terribly far from the stadium. Great burgers and comfort food. Milk shakes for the kids and beer for adults.

I made a mistake by telling my son I'll let him choose so we'll probably be eating pizza or at the in-laws before the game.
