Arians said Andre Ellington already has gained 10 pounds this off-season, which should help him absorb the pounding running backs endure.
As a rookie in 2013, Ellington was listed at 199 pounds, and coaches thought the longer season took a toll on his body.
“He is in the weight room every day,” Arians said. “He wants to get better. I’ve never been around a running back who stepped on the field and tried to do things he’s never done before and played wide receiver as good as he does.
“He plays it as well as most of our starting wide receivers. He has a unique talent we want to look at and continue to build our offense around this year.”
