Defense won the first half. Offense second half and redzone… someone posted about both looking good and got some push back on “how can both look dominant”, that’s accurate, both had great moments. It was actually a pretty ideal scrimmage. Comments about Trent putting together the “best drive” of the day wasn’t saying Cade or anyone else was bad. It was against the 3rd string defense.
All RB looked great. The secondary is improving.

Thanks for the insight. Any observations on OL? I think our DL will be good but curious if our trenches held up? One thing is Cade getting the ball out quicker than DJ but another is if they actually help up in pass pro and created running lanes for the backs.

OL was good, especially in the second half. Honestly if they held up better I’d be concerned about the DL. The D will be a problem for everyone we play this year, DL is really good and secondary is really solid.

Curious about the secondary. What did they come out in? Was Kuba playing true safety or did it look like last season? How did the LB's look? I mean to say, what does it look like behind our starters if you had to say???
Life what you bring. Thanks.

Don’t like Kuba at nickle. Your opinion safeties just better along with starting true CBs? Always thought he was too small to be a true safety but always thought he was an every down back. Who ran along side Wiggins at 1?

Phillips is too talented not to get a ton of snaps!
All three of these dudes honestly somehow need to be on the field(if that's possible). I think Mickens came off the bench last year; and just made play after play after play when he had his opportunities.
We are deep at safety! I wouldn't want to make the call on who starts for sure.

Parks and Burley got hurt.
Helms didn't play, hamstring. Tyson was QB2, he was not good. If klubnik gets hurt, we might not win a game.

In Spring, the tea leaves was reading as if Hunter Helms had changed his body and had grasped GR's offense better than Cade. I think we will be fine with Helms; if he had to start. I still remember his limited time at GT and remember thinking: "dang this kid can play"! In a new offense with a new body and confidence - I think he could come in and do a great job for us.
Please, look at Stetson Bennett's Rival rating! QB is sometimes hard to evaluate for college as well as some H.S. coaches just have superior systems. Doesn't mean the player is great. Another player may be in an inferior system; but is actually a better player!
Hunter Helms is good and could win us games if he needed to based on everything his teammates and coaches have said. https://n.rivals.com/content/athletes/stetson-bennett-239154?view=pv

I took his response like "If Klubnik goes down, and HH isn't available, winning is going to be a lot harder."
I share your perspective too -- if CK2 goes down, I feel comfortable with HH taking over. HH as the backup option almost strikes me like when we had Chase Brice or even Nick Schuessler (DWs backup) - A quality player that can step in if needed and still win with.
(Ironically both of those QBs had to play against 'Cuse because they knocked our QB out of the game.)

I didn't get that at all from Dabo's comments. He talked about Tyson's 5th year experience, best drive of the day, his leadership, and he seemed to convey a lot of confidence in him. Maybe that was coachspeak to a point but I didn't get the sense that he lacked confidence in Paul. He did mention Tyson is not as mobile as the others and I recognize that could be significant but again, Dabo kind of downplayed it.
I also don't get the sense that HH is head and shoulders above Tyson but I have not seen either one of them play so that is pure speculation on my part.
