cult like adoration of SEC fans is just way too much and we've hated the conference for so long. You don't see the arrogance in the BIG except for Ohio State and to a lesser degree Michigan. Southern Cal has it as well but outside of those three is is a pretty down to earth conference.

No more Yankeeville talk. No Ohio, Michigan, Jersey, etc. Clemson is SOUTHERN. End of story.

Agree with you on the southern part but really don’t want to be in the SEC. Sad ACC leaders have been so terrible in their decisions. Now we have to go to yankeeland or go to the high bidder conference.

Clemson is a better fit in the SEC. BIG would offer more money but a true southern team in the state of South Carolina should remain in a southern league. Outside of monetary gain, I would be so disappointed to watch Clemson play a BIG schedule.

I have been, but it doesn’t excite me personally to play a bunch of northern teams. The BIG would offer the following:
1. Ohio St. 2. Michigan 3. Penn St.
None of these games would make me excited on a yearly basis. I was born and raised in the south and playing teams from up north doesn’t bring the same excitement. I would rather see the following:
1. Clemson vs UGA 2. Clemson vs LSU 3. Clemson vs Florida 4. Clemson vs Tennessee 5. Clemson vs Auburn 6. Clemson vs Alabama 7. Clemson vs Texas A&M 8. Clemson vs Texas 9. Clemson vs Oklahoma

due to better regional tie-ins, mutual love for Southern FB, similar cuisine likes, rabid fans, great locales & stadiums, smash-mouth football, more history of winning, etc.

I definitely would want to make sure the Big 10 was bringing FSU, UNC, and maybe another with Clemson before joining. Being the only southern school in that conference would be terrible.

Oregon, Washington & USC are part of BIG now....

Need to add the following to the BIG list...
Clemson vs Oregon Clemson vs Washington Clemson vs Real USC
And probably keep in mind that FSU goes with us and Notre Dame is potentially involved.
I get the geographical stuff...but the BIG can have just as much quality as the SEC if they add Clemson & FSU to what they currently have...assuming a couple of programs step it up a notch (the realUSC being one of them). Wouldn't hurt for Wisconsin or Nebraska to take a step up as well.

If you don't think B1G fans are arrogant, go visit their forums and read what they think of the south, to include fans and teams from the south. You'll be disappointed if you think the Ohio States, Wisconsin, and, Michigans of the world are going to embrace a team or people from Clemson, South Carolina. They'll speak of Clemson "character" but not in a way you will like.

We have tradition and history with the SEC

I believe we could always be a top Football team in the SEC too.
I would much rather be in the SEC and take advantage of the curve to greatness!

I'm not sure that we will even see the names SEC and B1G. We may, but they won't look anything like they do now.
It's kinda like the old AFL and NFL. Two separate leagues. When they merged they kept their identity, somewhat. Three teams from the old NFL moved from the NFC to the AFC. Anybody old enough to remember how controversial that was. "Why are we moving teams from the superior National Football League to the inferior American Football League?" Does anybody even remember they were Pittsburg, Cleveland and Baltimore? And, the first Super Bowl after the merger had Baltimore vs. Dallas. "See, we told you the NFL was superior. Two NFL teams won their conferences."
I have a feeling we may see something akin to that. Not saying that we will immediately see a merger of the SEC and B1G and teams will move from one conference to the other. But, with 48-56 teams in the two conferences, they will be placed in divisions and the talk will soon turn to "division pride" rather than conference pride. Winning your division will be more important than winning your conference.
So, do I prefer Clemson (and FSU) to be in the SEC or B1G? I don't care. Just get them out of the ACC and into one of the divisions in one of those conferences. Or maybe even a division that has some teams from each conference.

In regards to conference affiliation. You then substantiate my opinion by suggesting the Big 10 is a better fit for Clemson than the SEC. You need to go research the AAU/Big 10
