Shipotle Fire Spiller ire

I watched the first half last night again and a couple of things stood out.

FAU obviously had a defensive plan to take Shipley out of the game. They keyed on him and it looked like they had done a good job of film prep by picking up when he would get his touches based on formation.

They swarmed him and the OL was not adapting.

Ship had one play that he had a hole coupled with a formation that made defense think pass and he gained about 20 yards on it. Otherwise they stayed on him. Frustrating play after play. However Riley used it perfectly using formation and play action to get defense to collapse to Shipley and get Barringstool in one on one for the TD.

Mafah was ignored by the defense especially when him and Ship were in the backfield together. Then Riley used that perfectly by showing pass without Ship in lineup and then giving it to Mafah for the score.

Then we get to the two rushes inside the 5 yard line by Ship that instigated the supposed confrontation on the side line. After second rush ship said "what are you mad at me for" Then QB sneak.

The first screen shot of Ship and Spill showed Sip talking rapidly and animated and Spiller said something and Ship seemed to respond with emphasis and Spiller nodded and slapped him on the helmet and Ship walked away.

Then the announcers start talking about it and show a second screen shot that was earlier in the "confrontation" when Ship first got to the sideline. Spiller said something to Ship and Ship got loud a squared up like 'are you kidding me' Spiller obviously did not like having his ear yelled at and turned in Ship. His body language made it seem like he was addressing Ship delivery not message. And Ship toned down but continued to explain or say what he wanted to say.

We saw it in reverse of how it happened and it made it look worse than it was.

Now someone said Cade was in Ships ear, but what I saw was Cade listening to Shipley who was under the towel but talking very rapidly. Then Cade spoke to Spiller after he came out of the game from the following series. Spiller just nodded and said alright...

Glad to see Cade try to intercede but he was not in Ships ear.

FWIW Shipley was back in the game just before the half and had a carry and was swarmed again by the FAU defense.

overall I don't think it is much of anything other than momentary competitive spirit.
