Always unless he taps his toe and then picks it up.

But dragging the toe out of bounds is ok?

Yes, because the only part of his foot that touched in bounds was the toe.

I've read this five times and don't understand why that's different than what just happened to Cain.

Because a player dragging the toe while going out of bounds has only put one part of his foot on the ground while having possession of the ball.

A player who lands with a toe in bounds and heel out of bounds has part of his body out of bounds while in possession.

Not saying you're wrong I just don't understand.

No problem. I see where it could be confusing.

Not saying you're wrong either but that has to be the stupidest rule ever. Again, proves the officials don't really know what a catch is even when the whole stadium knows.

Re: Since when is it the whole foot?

Nov 5, 2016, 5:36 PM

Why is it dumb? If half of his foot is in, and half is out, he hasn't established possession in bounds. If he drags his toe, his position has been established in bounds with the ball.

Since the creation of football.***

I'm gonna have to agree with you here! I've seen so many "tip-toe" catches, toes in the line with receiver falling out of bounds.

TD or not, it still looked cool.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His toe was touching the ground inside before...

Nov 5, 2016, 5:23 PM

the heel came down out of bound. If it's ruled a TD, it'd have been at least stand as called.
