OL Walker Parks arrived at Clemson in 2020 with a bit of a nasty side. He apparently came by it innocently. According to ClemsonTigers.com:
“Senior offensive lineman Walker Parks has a deep passion for the game, which has allowed him to be successful on the field. Growing up in a football family has significantly impacted Parks’ life. He grew up playing with his brother, Graham, and his father, David, was an offensive lineman at Kentucky.”

Walker Parks’ Clemson career started strong. In 2020, ESPN bestowed their Freshman All American honors upon him. Since 2020, he has played in 39 games and started 28 of them. According to excerpts from his bio on ClemsonTigers.com:
“ESPN Freshman All-American as a reserve in 2020 who earned the starting right tackle role entering his sophomore year in 2021 and transitioned to guard during fall camp in 2022 … enters 2024 having played 2,107 career snaps over 39 games (28 starts) … two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection.
2023: Limited by injury to 123 offensive snaps over two games (both starts) … played 73 snaps in season debut at Duke, helping the Tigers exceed both 200 passing yards and 200 rushing yards … played 50 snaps as Clemson amassed 679 yards of offense and 37 first downs vs. Charleston Southern … suffered a season-ending injury in that contest.

In 2023, Parks was a leader on the Clemson offense. According to ClemsonTigers.com:
“I’ve gotten a lot stronger and bigger. I’ve changed my body composition, and I feel like I’m at that perfect medium. I’m the strongest and leanest I’ve ever been and feel fast and quick. The biggest thing is my intelligence, football-wise. I have a lot of progress to make, but the coaches have been phenomenal.”
With a few years under his belt, Parks has earned a veteran status on the team, allowing him to take on some new responsibilities.
“I have been a leader on the team for the last couple of years. As a senior, guys look at you a little more. The biggest thing I have stepped into as a senior is I am the middle back on the punt team, which is fun for me. I will get to block for the punter and hopefully run down the field and make a tackle.”

His season, however, was cut very short. As reported by the Greenville News:
“A second Clemson football player is out for the season because of an injury. Starting right guard Walker Parks will miss the remainder of the year with an unspecified lower body injury, Dabo Swinney announced Saturday after the Tigers' 31-24 loss to Florida State.
Parks, a senior who has a redshirt season available, had missed the Tigers' game against FAU in Week 3 and didn't play against the Seminoles. Senior Mitchell Mayes has started at right guard in his stead.
Parks played through an ankle injury much of last season and had surgery in the offseason. Swinney said his current injury is new, but it also will require surgery. He declined to say what the injury was, but that it was "below the ankle area."

Walker Parks now looks forward to leading the Clemson offense as a 5th year senior in 2024. Earlier this year, Dabo gave a promising report on Parks’ playing status for next season. According to Clemson Wire (USA Today’s Clemson coverage):
One of the places the Tigers need the most help on in the 2024 season is the offensive line, and the return of veteran offensive lineman Walker Parks should definitely help there.
In 2023, Parks had a season-ending lower-body injury against Charleston Southern, which resulted in him playing just two games and 123 offensive snaps. Now a redshirt senior, Parks is now in his 5th and final year with the program. During Dabo Swinney’s Wednesday press conference as spring practice kicked off, the head coach shared an injury update on Parks.
“Our hope for him is to hopefully get some type of individual,” Swinney said. “It might be the latter part of spring or whatever, but to really get him into maybe some indy type of stuff and get him back just moving around from that standpoint. But he’s tracking in a good spot.”

U.S. Route 123 is a 75.12 mile U.S. Highway in northeast Georgia and northwest South Carolina that runs from the southwest end in Clarkesville, GA to the northeast end at I-385 Bus in Greenville, SC and going through Westminster, Seneca, Clemson, Liberty, and Easley.
  
Bon Secours Wellness Arena was built in 1998 as the Bi-Lo Center at the intersection of the end of U.S. 123 and near the end of I-385 at a cost of $63 million. It seats approximately 19,000.It was renamed Bon Secours Wellness Arena in September of 2013. The arena has hosted sporting events like the 2023 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament regional and many music performers like ZZ Top and a new Lynyrd Skynyrd last month. The arena replaced the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium that was next to where the arena is now. GMA was built in 1958 with a seating capacity of about 7,500. It hosted basketball tournaments and professional wrestling and was the site of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd's last concert in October of 1977. The auditorium was imploded on September 20, 1997.
