So BYU, Cincy, Houston and UCF will join the BIG XII

I'm just not seeing how this move really benefits the BIG XII.

It's all about media rights. These are massive markets - Houston is one of the biggest cities in the country, UCF hits Orlando, BYU stretches them into a new market, and Cincy, along with being in a state that loves college football, has had recent success.

It's more about TV rights than anything else.

I agree it's not the most exciting addition, but what options did they have, besides fold up and go away? The Big XII is just trying to stay alive.

Nice TV markets as mentioned by a previous poster.

Also, the 4 schools listed, combined, have a student enrollment that's around 200,000 students.

This is matched in the ACC but the combined enrollment of Boston College, Clemson, Pitt, UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, Louisville and Syracuse.

Graduates watch games and spend money.

Big 12 will be reduced to a glorified Group of 5 conference once the two teams with value leave.
