So with XE coming back DE looks better but still paper thin.

I guess our starters are XE and Mascoll. Their back-ups are Greg Williams, Denhoff, and Patterson.
I am missing something, or did any DE back-ups take a snap during their careers at Clemson?
Williams is an RS JR!
I am guessing our freshman Peter Woods will have to play DE next year, huh?
Thoughts?

Hoffler could as well. Denholm and Patterson need to show something this spring. Both were top 100 recruits who last year hardly sniffed the field. We have numbers, but unknowns behind XT and Mascoll. But at loeast we have XT and Mascoll at the top of the depth chart. Yes, Woods may get some time at DE

I like Hoffler but having both freshman back-ups at DE? Yikes. Oh well, you're right; we do have bodies. We need XT to be healthy this season. Wes has got his work cut out for him next year.

it would be nice to have a flex guy like Wilkins and Bresse for sure. Denhoff is the one I think may take that next step. Williams has been around awhile and looks the part. Moving Swint this past season maybe lets us know where the young guys stand

freshmen is DL. Just in the last few years; Murphy, Bresee, Davis, Wilkins, Lawrence, XT. Pretty sure Burley and Woods will get plenty of snaps this year, and Parker at DE. Green and Hoffler could.
Denhoff and Patterson are guys who need to show something. Lawson is still a project. Ojiegbe needs to add good weight, but he's a great athlete

I wouldn't say thin, just young and unproven. I don't think we'll ever be short of talent on the D-line and we have an amazingly huge class coming in. DT is also pretty deep with Williams, Page, Capehart, Story...hopefully TD or Ruke comes back this year. Peter Woods and Parker will likely avoid RS, they are going to be studs.

The Youngins coming were good enough in practice for Swint to hit the Portal. Like I said,just an opinion
Woods is DE his freshman year ,that was said at the time he committed.Parker won't be Redshirting.

if that's accurate, he's more in line for DE action than DT this year. Parker will play. We are so deep at DT even without TD and Ruke, we have flexibility to cross train some guys. Story could be used outside as well depending on where his weight now is

him to 295,he's closer to 285. IF he returns, we could see him at BOTH positions next season. Remember he was DE in HS ? With the returns already announced,this D with Goodwin getting his learning year out of the way, will be lit in 23.
I'm selfish as a fan though,I've always wanted to see what Ruben was in his 5th year,he might just be the one to, leave if the others return.

I personally think Ruke and TD are gone, but we'll see. Regardless, with Page, Williams, Capehart, possibly Reuben, Story and Burley, even Green, we're good at DT, even if Woods plays DE as a freshman. We're loaded!We recruit DT as well as anyone

I’ve said all along that if we need to move a DT to DE I’d like to see Ruke be that guy. Maybe if he comes back….

I read Woods was already DE at least first year.
So of the current DTs, Story is the one option?

but neither XT or Mascoll are 3-4 ends, so the move to that makes zero sense. Between Woods, Parker, Hoffler, Denhoff, Patterson, and Williams, I think we can come up with competent backups
