Soccer loses first game 2-1 to Syracuse

We were down Sylla and Diop. we had our chances, but 'cuse was relentless on shots. Refs allowed a little more rough play than usual which helped 'cuse as they had much bigger players. LOL

amazing what Clemson's record was before this game tonight under coach Noonan when scoring first,125-8-8 I think I heard it right

I agree. I watched most of it. I did not care for the comments by analyst Daren Cuff he was reeking bias and you could tell he was all for Syracuse (by the way he is A basketball analyst and he needs to stick to that).

He does come off as sounding bias the times he has called Clemson games that I have watched and the worse was last season during the National Championship where as the game was winding down in the closing minutes he said the National Championship is coming back to Columbia,SC.He later changed it and said it was coming back to Clemson,but the question is how can caller of any game mess up something that bad by saying that to begin with.

We gave a sloppy goal in the first half that gave them energy and cost us the game ultimately

after the Indiana game was that our defense was suspect. Seems like the team will go only as far as the back line will take them this year. I hope they can tighten up as the season progresses.

Diop has only played in 2 games this year... injury? Sylla was covid related. There were 2 others out due to covid as well. Really need Diop on defense. Our backline is a little rough.

Diop pulled his hamstring, badly, in second game of year.

Saw him on bench in SCAR game, which was a couple of weeks ago, and he was still noticeably limping.

All other folks that were out were due to COVID.

We hit the post twice, had our chances.

The Cuse players were huge and that took away our air game but we hit the post twice, missed other good chances and gave up a ridiculous goal by making a mess of clearing the ball from the goal line. Cuse was the better team tonight.
