Sorry for my ignorance but I rarely watch the game. So can someone translate for me what a 1-0 win means compared to other sports? Is 1-0 like 7-0 in FB? Or 14-0? Seems like a low score is a pretty big deal.

1-0 in the national semi finals means you won are advancing to the finals. Just like in football, if you shut out the other team you can’t lose.

I watched countless soccer games my grandson played in from childhood thru D1. All i can say is if you like scoring don’t watch a soccer game. A 1-0 game means the winner played great defense but the goal they scored could have been blind luck. I have sen many of those. Now if it was 2-0 or 3-1 for example that, to me, says one team was better than the other.
But i will defer to opinions of soccer plsyers and coaches on the board. I was never a coach…well actually I coached both sons’ teams when they were kids.
