I would imagine notifying the ACC would be the last thing to do.

Here’s how I see this going: They have lined up their investment house backing to pay their exit fee. Once they leave they stand on the street corner waiting for the SEC and BIG bidding war to determine where they go. Their angel investor gets repaid the exit fee plus 10-20% of revenues for the 10 years. The GOR remains unbroken and we stay stranded in the ACC with no other real football power to lend any legitimacy to our strength of schedule. FSU is striking while their market value is peaking so they don’t fall into a rut like we have the last three years.

Again, the exit fee and GOR are two different things.
I'm sure they can come up with the exit fee.
They are leaving unless they find a way to break the GOR.
I guess they could say, "Screw it. Sue us. We're leaving and we're not honoring the GOR." but it's a contract and they will lose.
Maybe they could hope that the ACC is no longer in existence when it gets through the courts but That's a 5x Texas A&M Jimbo Fisher contract type move.

Maybe ESPN is paying their out !
Duke has a lot of attorneys who could possibly keep FSU and ACC commissioner in litigation for years. If they came up with $480 dollars I would hope an audit would confirm where every dollar came from. Are t they still paying former head coaches they fired.

They need to find somewhere to land before they make the move to leave. Sec says they are done plus don’t want another FL team. Big10 has not offer either. That leaves big 12 or independent.

That’s not how this works. Just look at the past instances. Ou and Texas left before announcing their destination. Then couple days later announced where they are going. Now I’m sure someone reaches out and has an idea but it’s not officially extended as far as the public is concerned until you leave where you are.

$480m is quite the ask though. Interesting to see if they get that lowered...

Or somehow fight out of it entirely.
Gonna be hard to gather that much privately when you're paying about a $20m roster fee.

Obviously, they have some kind of plan/scheme to get around that,

or compensate for it, because if there is a net cost of $480 MILLION, they won't be leaving. They must have some plan for getting around it or recouping it.

I cannot even if my life depended on it answer why would a school, business, or anything or anybody would knowingly sign themselves into a $480 million dollar contract for 20 plus years. I believe that any normal person that understands the real value of money wouldn't sign themselves in to a contract like that, but supposedly smart people in the ACC done that to their schools, it's almost unbelievable!!!

ACC leadership is full of incompetent morons who are incapable of thinking about 5 minutes into the future much less 20 years....you would almost think it was an inside job to sink the conference because that deal was a death sentence

Sadly, our current President signed off on this. Maybe he should receive some pointed questions? 😁

If Ron DeSantis becomes the Republican nominee for President, he and the Florida legislature may stop FSU for wasting $480 million dollars just to bolt from the ACC. Especially if any of that money is tax payer funds FSU may be using. We brought FSU and Miami into the ACC to give our conference a boost not to make the ACC irrelevant who knew that would become mediocre teams.
FSU and Miami owe the ACC for failing to live up to their expectations. After Jimbo ran off Bobby Bowden he drove FSU into the ground. Then he bolted to A&M and tried to drive them in the ground to.
If they go to the SEC after one successful season in years they will get the butts kicked up and down the field.

Neither the SEC nor B1G is even interested in dating them.

RUMOR - sources tell me FSU was overrated all season long and doesn’t even belong in top 5 with Jordan Travis.

they aren't paying $480 million to get out

All hat, no cattle.
Even if that number is cut to $100 million I don't see how it benefits them. They aren't winning the B1G or SEC. They have had 3 potential teams this century that MIGHT have won a B1G or SEC title. They ain't all that.
