Well who couldn't see that one coming? Only time you see Swofford have anything positive to say about Clemson is when he gets to come on the field after we win a national championship. Can't wait to see him retire.

blame the over arching pandemic as a reasoning for why your rules and methods didn't mean or achieve anything. ITs a C.Y.A. of course but in the meantime Clemson athletic dept. is out $300,000 bc your protocols were worthless....AND you were missing in action when all this was going down. Where were the ACC officials at on Saturday? Raking leaves? They should have been the one to make the call or mitigate the cost.Thats why DABO was so frustrated. They just ruined his budget even though he did everything by the book. And it ended up being an arbitrary call made by the other school that served as the final judgement.

more so than the people posting in here. But that was not the issue, the protocols failed. And despite every precaution, we took an infected player on a plane.
Where it gets a little out of line is a head coach, who is probably right, making accusations that he can not back up, and these accusations come against the very people whose job it is to ensure the safety of the players.
It is one of those things where you better be right and willing to die on that hill, or just let it go.

We can probably agree that protocols need to exist.

So based on what occurred this past weekend, here is the new protocol: Player X with no symptoms and three negative tests shall not travel.
Conclusion: Season is over.

Tigerbalm1® - - - what's your rebuttal to this ?
Dude has a niggling cough and a headache on Monday & Tuesday . . . tests through the whole thing, all week, purportedly every day - and all are negative. On Wednesday he feels 100% and bashes his head in for 2 days straight practicing for a football game - that's how good he feels.
So - you are saying he shouldn't get on the bus to the airport on Friday ?
I agree with Row . . . if you say yes - then the season should have never started.

I don't answer silly straw man arguments. The fact of the matter is nobody outside of the medical staff and the FSU Admin knows what happened. But apparently some of you guys are mind readers, along with our head coach. Maybe it is true that they opted out for other reasons than covid, maybe not. We will never know.
Either way, in retrospect, it was not a good hill to die on. It is a bad look for Swinney. It paints him as someone who does not care about the health of his players. Even though we know that is not true, perception is reality and he should have just kept it to himself. It accomplished nothing but bring negative attention to our program.

Should a player with no symptoms and multiple negative tests travel with the team? We need to have protocols in place. So is that what it needs to be?
You just keep talking about someone “dying on a hill” and I have no idea what that means.

The player did have a positive test on Friday

we just did not get the results until the plane landed. No, he should not have been on it. And had the coaches waited and found out about the positive, he would have stayed home. it is what it is.
We need to learn from this and not board the plane until all the Friday tests come back, Otherwise we set ourselves up for this to happen again.

The ACC commish can not publicly support Dabo's

comments. It doesn't matter who's commish.
The only way he could possibly (sort of) support Clemson is to make a statement saying that the current testing protocols are being examined.
I think there's obviously a flaw in the testing procedures if the test results come in AFTER players have already traveled on road trips.
But if you think Swofford can come out and publicly support Dabo's accusations of FSU basically using COVID as an excuse to not get their ##### beat, you're crazy.

ESPN article full of lies and half truths....Get the facts straight and get all the facts from the FSU side of this...Who authorized the forfeit?...Who in the FSU administration gave the staff the right to bypass the ACC rules? The Clemson player did not travel to Tallahassee with a positive test...he had at least 3 negative tests and was not symptomatic! The ACC seems to be a toothless ##### is the commish does not support teams following the rules! Because of great play Clemson has produced lots of revenue both TV and otherwise for the conference, and Swoffie does not appear to know where his butter comes from...can you imagine the SEC not coming to the aid of Alabama for such a tiff with Mississippi State...not in this lifetime! If the ACC cannot fix this crap then maybe this lame duck idiot should have been ousted long ago...What are the rules, who followed them and who made their own...If the letter of the law said play the game then play it...backsliding and calling something a 'gray area' don't cut it...a journalist always falls back on the gray area! Forfeit or quit, same S***!
