Terrific interview with Erik Bakich on Packer&Durham linked

If you have not seen the segment from ACCN's Packer & Durham Show this morning, you should watch at the link below. Coach Bakich is much more candid in the interview than during the introductory press conference yesterday. He talked about the improvements to Kingsmore Stadium since he left 20 years ago and lots more.

Did they ask him why he went 12-12 this past year in the Big10 and never finished 1st in the Big10 regular season?

Did anyone ever ask you why you are a negative nanny? Have you ever had a job review from a competent supervisor?

No but your mom gave me a negative review. She said 15 minutes was to short. She really got pissed when I told her it was about me not her. I think it’s my fault she’s a lesbian now.

What happened to the other 30% of Mark Packer? Dude has lost some serious weight. Good for him.

I think PAC had a serious bout with COVID, and that probably has much to do with his weight loss. I miss his radio show that I used to get to hear on “The Roar”. I can’t get it anymore, and I don’t know why. Is it still on? Has the network, or XM channel changed?

But that probably motivated him to lose weight and get healthy.
The obesity epidemic over the past 40 years because of government policies and things like high fructose corn syrup and the move towards sugar and other additives in food exponentially since the 80s has lead to horrific consequences for Americans. Had Covid hit 40 years ago very few people would have died. Obesity by way of diet and lifestyle is having devastating effects on our mortality and health. Even people that look healthy have high levels of cortisol and inflammation and are prediabetic.
As a culture we desperately need to change our diet and lifestyle. The government missed a golden opportunity to use Covid to educate the population on diet and lifestyle, vitamin D, fresh air and sunshine, exercise, etc. because these things would have saved more lives from Covid than anything that was done, but they would’ve helped move us back in a healthy direction. One of the primary reasons for skyrocketing medical costs in America is the obesity and diabetes epidemic.
Weight is the top comorbidity for Covid for people under 65. A little over 80% of people that died from Covid were considered morbidly obese based on BMI. Weight and age were known very early as major factors in Covid. It’s another reason the lockdowns were ridiculous because doctors knew before Covid that masking and lockdowns do not work and the data was trending in very specific directions from the beginning.
