The 10 Win Seasons

The more you think about it, the more impressive it is. All the HOF Coaches, guys with stadiums and fields named after them. The Who’s who of blue bloods and only 2 have done what Dabo just did. Just flat out impressive.
Side note: I like tracking total wins, Clemson is now just 10 wins behind Auburn. 10 years ago Clemson was 50 wins behind Auburn.

That stat is misleading since teams play more games now.

Not to diminish our accomplishments, because winning 10 games certainly isn’t easy. But teams these days have at least 12 games each season, plus the possibility of a conference championship game as well as a bowl game/playoffs.
That wasn’t the case until recently. For many years, 12 games was the max.

Agree, but that applies to all teams. The closing gap with Auburn that he cited is valid, as is the fact that Clemson is one of three to maintain that mark 11 straight years.

And Domino Dave - all those other teams have had the same opportunity over the years right? So, it makes it noteworthy when it's rare!
Clemson is in rare company and isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Even with the Portal and NIL.

That’s right and everyone is playing more games and nobody but Bama and Clemson are doing what we’re doing.
This is impressive no matter how ya slice it.

Judge, I know you remember the years when CU and usc would go to the final game of the season, both with 5-5 records. A win and you beat your rival and go to a bowl game. A loss and you go home. I remember listening to games those days. Radio. Jim Phillips. Some of those memories are more implanted in my brain than games that were televised.
Go Tigers

Not to diminish you but why are you always trolling our team? How many other teams have 11 straight seasons of 10 or more wins? Seems they all play a 12 game schedule

In his defense. what he said is also true. Doesn't tarnish what Dabo and his team are doing , but it's valid. I am sure that he also understands that 11 seasons of 10 win seasons is an outstanding accomplishment.

impressive. The other coach, Nick Saban, is doing it during the playoff era, just like Dabo. Not bad company, any way you slice it.

Glad to know that the sour #### devil's advocate is first to pee in the corn flakes as usual. Judge Judy being Judge Judy. Auburn has an opportunity to play those same games today that every other team does, so the stats are still relevant. Good grief.

Look at the dates of the "streaks." Bama is 2008-2021 and FSU was 1987-2000. I'm sure that all of Saban's 10-win seasons were during 12-game regular season schedules, and I'm pretty sure that most of Bowden's were as well. In any case, it's a h e 1 1 of an accomplishment!
Congrats to Dabo on win number 150 as well! Go Tigers!

Good post!
Even with the extra games who else out there is has done it?
There is no diminishing this in any way/shape/form! Only 1 team in the CFP can say that as of late.
It's a big deal and something, if you were at 85% of the rest of college football, would likely get a HC a extension. Or a raise. And, I am referring to just winning double digit wins in say two consecutive seasons. Or 3 11 win seasons being the end all be all of your football history(scar). It's something and we shouldn't take it for granted at all - because so many other programs would give their left "goalpost" to be where we are right now! Fact!

Isn't Dabo 2nd or 3rd all time in wins in their first 15 years coaching. That to me is the most impressive thing. Dude is a living legend.

Only 3 CFB coaches have at least 150 wins in less than 15 seasons... Dabo just did it in his 14th. The other 2 are Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops.
Rare Air.

Cudos to the coaching staff, players and fans. Given all of the adversity - 10-3 is a lot to celebrate.
Every 'true' Tiger Nation fan can be pleased where we ended up given where we started from.
I'm proud to say my household is "All-In"
