The coronavirus it’s becoming more of a psychological virus
Mar 12, 2020, 6:24 PM

The coronavirus it’s becoming more of a psychological virus, than a biological virus. This overreaction and hysteria surrounding the virus is obviously being driven by individuals who are shorting the market. The only people who have died from it in the US are over the age of 80 this is crazy.

Personally I think you are licking the wrong urinals. Plus symptoms could take 4 to 14 days so just keep on licking and hope for the best. Your taking all the right steps.

Older people are the ones most at risk, but your over 80 statement is false because I know a 67 year old died in Georgia. In any case, you’re saying we shouldn’t care since it’s only old people?

That man that died in GA also had many health problems before he got the virus.

So basically you’re saying his death doesn’t matter, correct?

No, what he is saying is if this person caught the regular flu, pneumonia or had a heart attack it would likely have taken his/her life.

Think we are seeing evidence of that now with what I think is total overreacting

Even if you believe that this is an over-reaction

(and I don't), but even if it were. It is #### good practice for the next bug that comes along that is for real. Maybe this one has a death rate of between 2 - 6% depending on how you dice the statistics, but when the next one comes along and is less discriminating, we'll have some real experience, we won't be as slow to respond, we'll have better coordination and people on tigernet will still complain that it's silly. But the nation will be in a better position to respond than we were this time.

It's hard to say either way imo. It is serious but we also shouldn't shut the world down for something that is just causing most people to be sick for a few days.

Every single one of you who think this is an over reaction by the authorities would be the first to complain if your grandmother contacted this virus by attending the ACC tournament! You know that I speak the truth.

next up is Rhinovirus

Rhinovirus statistically more contagious than corona-virus has a similar death rate for those over 70 and it's estimated that more than 60 million people will contract it.

The consensus I’m seeing here is “it doesn’t matter it’s just old people” ....unless it’s your mother or father of course..., Then we need to do something or sue somebody, SMDH

It's unfortunate that it's mid-March and there are still

so many unknowns regarding infection numbers and symptom rates here in the US. What is known is alarming in respect to prior diseases (mortality rate, incubation period), and without random testing and other basic benchmark data, we only have the alarming stuff to go by, instead of greater context to place this in, whichever way it may fall.
One thing's for sure, without sports as a distraction and catharsis there's going to be a lot of nasty vitriol from the masses coming up, on all sides, as any break from addiction brings about.
Go Tigers!
