Seems obvious to me the eventual result of the Pac 12 disintegration will be the 12 Mountain West teams merging with the Pac 4 to become the Pac 16. The Pac brand name has much more value than the Mountain West.

Oregon State and Washington State are waiting on Cal and Stanford before they pull the trigger and join the Mountain West. They can probably just sit tight instead.

However, if the qualifications for the CFP are changed, that could blow up this idea.

I've always thought Boise State should have been in the Pac-12.

The school that I find interesting is San Diego State. That area has produced some really good talent; the better of which usually end up at Southern Cal.
Be a good get for the Pac.

It's all about amateurism though - is what everybody keeps trying to pretend.

PAC entrance fees. Doubt any of the 4 would go that route.

True, by ncaa rules you must have 8 members to be a legit conference. The PAC has a 2 year grace period to reach the 8 number.
They must attract, merge or dissolve.
