Spoke at the Savannah QB Club last night Monday, 10/2. The personable & well-spoken 1998 Oklahoma broadcast journalism grad was speaking to a group of club members (including me) who are high quality people and football fans & not surprisingly largely UGA alum/fans but also GaT, Auburn, Florida, Bama, Georgia Southern, Furman, Notre Dame, UVA, Fla State, other. He spoke knowledgeably and expectantly pro-SEC on a number of subjects. When speaking about Ole Miss win over LSU, he stated he knows Brian Kelly is unpopular, but he liked Kelly who had had treated him well as ND HC. He projects Lane Kiffin has the best shot at replacing Saban as Bama HC.
Nowkah went on to say that Kelly has a shot at winning a natl championship at LSU unlike Dabo Swinney who has earned the reputation of being anti-movement and anti-money with college players which is a non-starter for most recruits and families. Of course, Clemson fans believe this to be an inaccurate statement, BUT it goes to show how the issue is being presented and reported to recruits, families, and high schools/coaches at Disney and ESPN. Makes for tough sledding against the media establishment and explains what Clemson is up against from a recruiting perspective. Not surprisingly Nowkah is high on Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC and high on B. Venables and Oklahoma's ability to compete with Texas this week.

BUT it goes to show how the issue is being presented and reported to recruits, families, and high schools/coaches at Disney and ESPN.
but it's surely opposing coaches who are spreading that rumor. It doesn't help when they can just load up a sound byte of Dabo saying he might quit coaching if players start getting paid.

is anti-player money and anti-portal movement. This filters quickly to high school recruits & families and is used as back-up validation for SEC, B1G, Fla State, others to successfully recruit against Clemson.

he seemed ok when he did primarily baseball and pro sports, then they moved him to the SEC network and he totes the company talking points, he "thinks brian kelly will win a championship because he was nice to him at ND" wow hard hitting fact based reporting there Dari.....it just means more.

then they will want Dabo as their young athletes coach.
If they are Atheist or Hellmonger heatherns, they need to find another place.
Dabo is not against NIL, he is against pay for play. NIL is NOT pay for play, it is being paid for image/likeness

To me none of this matters and is a pointless worry. Dabo is Clemson until we start winning 7 games a year or he decides to leave. He's not being replaced. Who in the country is capable of coming to Clemson and taking us to grander heights? My assertion would be no one that is remotely available. In Dabo we trust until we are wrecked in a ditch getting pried out the jaws of life.
