The “rushing the field” narrative is getting old

Oct 23, 2022, 11:06 AM

How in the world can these “sports journalist” have ZERO idea about the traditions of a sport they are covering?? The media in general is an absolute dumpster fire, which is why majority of people are turning to independent media analysts

Agreed. We are a Top 5 national brand now. And we have been for years. That said, people are lazy. They don’t research or pay attention.

Calll it what you want, but we do rush the field, every game

I would prefer a slight delay to allow the visiting team to exit the field. They could even extend a fabric tunnel to the locker rooms, meaning it would only be a brief pause. With the way we do it now, someone is going to get hurt and it will be a big black eye for us.

Been that way for the 28 years I’ve been alive, storming the field is going onto the field without permission we are literally allowed on the field no matter what. So no it’s not “storming” the field ?‍♂️?‍♂️

I agree 100%. The other team should be allowed to shake hands with the Clemson players and leave the field before the stampede. As it is they can’t even find the players because of the mess down there with all the people surrounding them. It gives the appearance of rushing the field.

It's nothing new unfortunately. In 2007 we played FSU at home on Labor Day night to kick off the season and the next day ESPN's shows were debating about Clemson rushing the field for an FSU team that was barely even ranked. I just ignore it at this point, it's one of my favorite Clemson traditions and it really doesn't matter if anyone else gets it.
