Actually, it was $26 billion this year. Usually it's around $4 billion per year, though.

of all rotten things the US blows money on, the haters love to point out Israel - our good ally surrounded by countries with an irrational hatred of jews.

Australia has historically been a much better ally than Israel has been

Australians have fought alongside Americans in every major conflict since WW1. Israel has been known to sell classified US military technology to China.

Ukraine is largest American taxpayer money laundering operation in the history of the world....very very corrupt things going on. Most recently we found out Ukrainian oligarchs set up defense shell companies to get money so they could fortify Kharkiv. Guess what they did? Took the money and didn't provide one bit of defense which is why the Russians just marched right over the northern border capturing 9 villages

The sooner we can wash our hands of this disaster in Eastern Europe, the better for the American taxpayers. Almost $200 billion and not a victory in sight

But if we don't help Ukraine, how do we stop communist leaders like Putin from taking what they want? If we don't help Taiwan there isn't any doubt that communist Chinna would have already invaded that Island. We have to do whatever it is to stop the communist bullies from getting to close to our country and being a constant threat. Peace and Freedom isn't free, and if our tax dollars are used to help with keeping our Peace and Freedom from being violated, we should be glad that it only cost each of us a few dollars a week to help keep us safe...

Things are costly right now, but covid helped to play its part in that with China's help, but right now today we have the strongest economy than any country in the world, and that means we must pay our dues or everything that America represents will collapse around us, and it's much harder to repair than it is to just keep it moving forward even if it's by taking small baby steps at a time...

Why? Most often, simply showing the enemy the gun negates the need to use it.

yes, but the element of surprise catches the enemy off guard.***

What exactly do you mean? We didn't give anyone any technology here - Australia developed a system, and we developed another.

Australia developed the 'Ghost Shark', while the US is working on the Orca (Boeing) and the Manta (Northrup).

Further, the US technically isn't developing any of them - private companies are, which I'm sure do count on selling these to allies in order to fund it. There are an incredible amount of rules and regs around who they can sell to and what they can sell, of course, much of it having to do with how much the US funded the project to start with.

Last, selling technology to our allies is an important way to fund these projects, so it isn't 100% tax-payer funded. We also then have more control over the technology that's out there, instead of a 3rd party developing something that we don't want out there.

But in this particular case - if you read the article - these are simply different projects.

The F-22 raptor is supposed to be the best fighter bomber in the world, and even though our closest allies wants to have them in their fleet, the USA has flat refuse to allow any of our allies have a single one of them. There was a law that actually came from our congress that we can't sell or even loan an F-22 raptor to anybody for no amount of money!!!

This was about to come out anyways. It’s a sub killer they’ve been working on since the 90’s. They just decided to release the info ahead of time. Remember the the story about the Russian Tsunami sub? Well, we’ve known about that for years and this is the answer. A constant patrol along both coasts without manpower. My 2 cents. And when they say stealthy, think Red October. If I had to put 2 and 2 together.

But to date, the USA is the only country that has a nuclear sub that only has to be fuel once for years, and no country knows where that sub is at any given time, and I would say that's about the only war tool that we have that keeps everybody off of backs and at peace with the world...

Anything that we have that will take countries years to duplicate if they had part of the plans, we want everybody to know about it, that's what they call preventive war powers!!!

I agree with you. I assume they let some of this out as a deterrence measure but I do think they give away way more than they should.
