Dabo pointing blame at everyone except the QB

It is likely that the offensive players are not confident in the QB. That will cause the offense to sputter if the QB lacks the support and trust of his teammates. He seems to blame everyone except the QB. I would not be happy of I was a receiver on that team. And, yes, I did play receiver in college.
Dabo doesn’t see that DJ constantly states down the receivers and does not make quick decisions in the pocket? He lacks feel and touch in his throws. He’s indecisive.
Honestly, I’m just tired of Dabo throwing all the offense under the bus except the QB. Perhaps a change in QB might be a spark the offense?

Yes bench DJ and start the guy who has been in the program for 3 years, has a 46% completion rate and has thrown 3 ints to 1 touchdown. You sound really smart right now.

But, Sometimes a change can make a difference to kick start the offense. Look at Georgia. The guy in there now is not more talented than the other guy, but there is just more chemistry with the offense now.
Wouldn’t it be good to give next man up a try?

Our QB situation is not the same as Georgia’s. Neither of those QBS played the way Taison has when he’s had a chance. Believe me when I say I really like Taison. I hope he develops. I hope he plays lights out if he gets a chance but there is nothing either from the chances he’s had to play or the spring game that suggests the coaches are making the wrong decision. After the spring game some classless “fans” on here were bashing him and wanted his scholarship pulled. Now they want to play him. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

I feel you rewrote history just now. TP had a heck of a Spring game and outplayed DJ by far. I don't recall any fans calling for TP's scholly after his injury either.

TP outplayed DJ gets repeated a lot...

One was 20-28 for 174 yards and a TD.
The other was 14-25 for 163, 1 TD and 1 Pick.
Which quarterback had which stat line?

Taijuan completion rate is 70% with 1 TD and 1 int. He also has the best QBR on the team, besides Spiers. You can’t go by what was done last year. Look at what DJ has done last year compared to this year. If you are looking at what we have done in the past, then we should be ranked #1.

nothing he did in mop up duty against SC State makes me doubt the coaches’ decision. I’d love to see him light it up when he gets to play in a big game but he has not shown us anything over the course of his career in the spring game or in real games that would suggest the coaches are wrong in playing DJ. If we use your logic we might as well start Will Spiers at QB.

He did have a 70% completion rate. Moved the team. Why can’t we see what he can do against good competition. Hasn’t he paid his dues?
The current QB has the Yips. If you ever played golf you know what I mean.

Because it'll show that it's not the QB that's the primary issue with this offense. Start with the wr's/ (coaching they're receiving and recruiting) and the OLine, which has been on the decline for quite a few years. I don't fault the players as it's the coaches that have created the problems. That's why I get so ticked off when I hear Dabo say it's execution, as if it's the players fault.

I think that is the bottom line. He may be struggling but they aren't seeing much in practice that says there is anyone better

True, but it all centers around the QB. He is not immune to the coaches wrath.

Nope. We had a high powered offense and we had confidence in our QB. That important, idiot.

We totally screwed up with our evaluations of DJ and TP and now we are paying the price. When you have a QB playing as poorly as DJ and the only guy behind him is so bad you never even consider playing him, you've royally screwed up. Yeah there are a lot of other issues as well but you've got to get above average (at least) QB play to ever win anything

Well well, AllTeamBall, thank you for sharing your perspective as a former collegiate wide receiver, and the problems that the team faces when they don't have confidence in their QB.
Tell me (and everyone) ... did you ever play with a QB in whom you had no confidence?
If so, then:
Did you purposely drop passes that your 'no confidence' QB hit you in the hands with?
Did you purposely run the wrong routes because you had 'no confidence' in your terrible QB?
Did you refuse to block on running plays because you had 'no confidence' in your awful QB?
Assuming that your answers to the above are "YES" then we can all understand why DJ can never be effective as a QB.

It’s just a frustration that permeates the team. I watch the receivers body language and it tell you all you need to know. There were many times I saw Ross and Ngata threw their hands up or looked to the sky in frustration. The frustration is not hard to see and it’s a cancer. All starts with th QB.

If changes are not made soon this program will return to mediocrity. Dabo is a smart man but he has been figured out and it’s time for some new material. Also new blood it’s time for change or everything Dabo has worked for will crumble.
