My views on vaccines have changed since Covid. I'll probably still get the flu vaccine this year after I talk with my doctor if she recommends it. She did not recommend a covid booster last year. I think I got the polio vaccine and maybe a couple of others. I'm glad that my children are not born today. Just 28 years ago they got far less vaccinations than children get today.

I no longer trust the CDC. I don't distrust everything they say, but I am 100% sure that they will present information in a political way instead of just giving facts.

Of course he does.

The bigger problem is, it's not just his kids he's putting at risk. It's ours too. These nincompoops have managed to resurrect measles and freaking polio in the United States.

And of course, the biggest pusher of vax disinformation has been Russia. They love agitating the derps by pulling threads that systemically unravel the fabric of our society, and these nincompoops demonstrate over and over again they have absolutely zero immunity to it. Check sources? Verify information? Of course not. They're all corrupt anyhow, so I'll just believe what I believe. Because of course the real purveyors of truth are on E-mail chains and 4chan and obscure subreddits.

There comes a point at which that attitude becomes a danger to everyone. I don't know where the breaking point is going to be but at some point these conspiracy theorists are going to wind up as permanent Morlocks on the fringes of society, unwelcome anywhere where rationality still reigns. One could argue they're probably past the point of no return on that already. When there's ten thousand Manson Families all running around out there spreading QAnon-type crazy, it sort of reinforces itself and becomes its own kind of pandemic. I don't even know how you'd begin to go about unwinding that knot, either.

It was pushed as a covid cure-all....Remember, we could all get back to our lives as normal if everyone would just get vaccinated! It was so important govt. was going to force your employer to fire you if you refuse to get it.

That kind of propaganda is directly responsible for the amount of public distrust we are now seeing. Of course that distrust and resentment is going to carry over to other vaccines for many people.

Yet, the ‘it is will save you’ sales pitch for the original COVID vax was still pushed with the same intensity even after the original COVID virus mutated into less dangerous forms. The marketing remained the same, the safety of the vax did not improve, but yet the efficacy of the vax declined. Coercive marketing, I should have said. Autocratic leaning state bureaucracies forced the same COVID vax on their citizens; going to school = must get vax / going to college = must get vax / going to public place = must get vax. Even long after it was proven that COVID vax neither prevented catching COVID nor spreading COVID.

It is refreshing to learn of anyone who pays attention to what is going on out there. Compare and contrast the marketing pitch vs (1st) to anecdote and then (2nd) data [ideally from both govt -&- non-govt sources. Good job!

It *was* 95% effective, on the original strain. It's completely unknown if they rolled it out quicker and everyone actually got it if it would've prevented mutations as quickly as they were.

But even still, it had a higher than 0% efficacy rate and the side effects of the vaccine were less severe than the damage Covid caused.

Good news is that the permanent vaccines we're get are for diseases that don't mutate the same way as Covid, so we're good - but people still stupidly equate them, which was my point.

Critics of the covid shot knew from the get-go that it was a rewrite of RNA because it was presented as such. Those from the Left didn't trust it because Donald Trump was for it. Doubts about the efficacy of it plus potential complications that could arise from such a new therapy is what the anti-vaxxers were up in arms about. Keep rewriting history though.

against the original covid strand.

As the virus mutated the efficacy against infection dropped, but the vaccines were still effective against serious disease/hospitalization.

I don't think it's fair to say that the vax was "marketed" any different than the data at the time indicated, right? The virus changed...the data changed as a result. And the vax was still a HUGE "win" in term of limiting the severity of the impact of the virus.

Dude, 1.1 million people in the US have died from COVID since 2020. That's what's insane. Did our public health services handle it well? Yes and no...for all that I loathe Trump, he did do the right thing by incentivizing drug companies to develop the vaxxes with Operation Warp Speed. MRNA vaxxes were customizable delivery platforms awaiting a pandemic, and when one happened, those vaxxes saved uncounted numbers of lives.

Where we really messed up was in coming out with any kind of coherent public-health policy. And here's where I absolutely do blame Trump. His message was...muddled to the point of insanity, and he basically declared war on Fauci because his narcissistically insecure self couldn't stand the fact that Fauci was popular. Declaring war on your own infectious-disease chief in the middle of a pandemic is not exactly the way to create good policy. So every state was left to muddle through on its own, trying to negotiate their way through a deluge of misinformation and a pandemic that had been stupidly politicized by a populist leader because populist leaders politicize and bring chaos to everything; that's all they know how to do.

Yeah, it was a train wreck. And that's almost entirely on Trump. Anybody else would have just said: this is the disease, it's serious, this is the vax the docs recommend, take it. Best odds you'll get. And there the matter would have - and should have - died. Let doctors be doctors.

And the medical community would agree with only half of your statement regarding the reason for these new outbreaks. Sure, imported diseases played a role. But anti-vax disinformation has played an immense role in the resurrection of formerly eradicated diseases too.

An actual productive line of inquiry - were you a rational human being - would be this: okay, so drug companies now have more latitude and less oversight than they once did, and so there's plenty of incentive for them to send their little dark-money gnomes out to influence lawmakers who make public policy to work vaxxes with little necessity or little benefit. With you so far. We know dark money is everywhere now, and we know how much K-Street's little goblins like cutting deals in backrooms with bent politicians...which is most of them. Happens all the time.

Here's where you lose me: the idea that these vaxxes cause autism, the drug companies know it, and are pushing this poison anyhow. I'm fully on board with the idea that Big Pharma is greedy as he!!, feeding like hogs at the public trough because that's what Big Everything does. I'd even fully entertain the notion, again, that a lot of these vaxxes are possibly either pointless or largely ineffective. But the big thing that terrifies virtually every drug company is liability. If they knowingly go making Rain Men out of millions of kids, at some point, doctors are going to notice (you know, like they did with oxycontin) and the drug company is not just going to be found out and sued, they're going to be dragged out by their hair by hordes of angry parents and lynched right on the street. Nobody wants to be the next Sackler family. Now that that Netflix movie about the Sacklers dropped, there will literally be nowhere on Earth for those godawful people to run. Untold millions of people across the globe have become their implacable enemy for all time. Enjoy being pariahs, guys.

So start doing a systemic case-by-case drug review. Find out exactly how many of these vaxxes are just opportunistic profit generators and how many are legit.

That's what you'd do, anyway, if you were actually serious about the truth of a just cause. But the truth doesn't interest you. Anytime reality disproves one of your pet theories - which is pretty much every day - you don't own it. You just blot out that you were a fool on the spot like it never happened...and go right on to the next conspiracy. And then wonder why no one ever takes you seriously.

The ‘vaccines cause autism’ statement is taken by those who take every vaccine imaginable as meaning that vaccines are the only cause of autism.

By arguing from that extremist perspective, the vax lovers are intending to make the vax skeptics look like the extremists.

That leftist tactic is well known. Time to the lefties to open up the playbook.

Now, on to your post.

Skepticism about the pharma companies and their puppets in the federal health agencies has been reinforced with the heralding of ‘Son of Vax’ … another EUA vaccine being prematurely foisted on the public because ‘Son of Covid’ is rumbling behind Mt. Fujiyama. The focus on widespread deployment of experimental vaccines shields the pharma companies from liability; the self-governing ‘greed suppressant’ has been neutered.

Seen the original. Not interested in the sequel.

As for non-covid vaccines, we are hearing about multipurpose vaccines to be combined into a single shot, with COVID and flu being the talk of the new combo. Going way back, the MMRT (mumps, measles, rubella, tetanus) seemed to work OK, although the statistical studies done years later to establish correlation between multi-purpose vaccinations to the increase in autism rates in kids were few and far between. Understandable, because, many decades ago with the development of one of the polio vaccines (I think it was the live virus version), there were lots of deaths (an event which the government covered up … also for decades).

Spoiler alert: The federal government does not like to look bad, and as long as it is up to the federal government to investigate itself, then the investigations are at high risk of being neither thorough nor properly targeted.

Summary: Each incidence when our federal health agencies are caught with multiple big lies with regard to a single disease, as was the case with COVID 19, then healthy skepticism proliferates.

Where are the multi-pronged therapeutic approaches?

OK, beddy bye time.

You very intentionally ran away after Flow completely wrecked you and your anti vax BS.

For someone who seems to be all about "doing your own research", you certainly seem to rely a lot on others.

A single peer-reviewed scientific study from an actual doctor or scientist--not a finance professor or Concerned Mommy blogger or Jenny McCarthy--that provides valid evidence that the MMR vaccine causes autism?

I'll take silence as a no, and I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to get.
