This incessant fawning over the commitment is out of hand

Jan 8, 2022, 3:16 PM

a dozen hats and flanked by everyone you've ever met. And then the first time they're pulled from a game they hit the protal. The gratest generation would laugh but sadly most made from that cloth arent around anymore

This incessant fawning is ridiculous

agree, even cutting away from the game, very frustrating.

Amen. Things like humility, class, and commitment seem to be

We don't have a problem renaming things these days. Why not get a new term when they sign to a school. 'Commitment' and 'committing' to a school just doesn't carry the same weight with the portal and NIL free agency. I'm glad I am not the only one with a problem with this. They need a top 12 post, top 10 post, top 6, top 5, 4, 3, 2, and a massive commitment video with production value just to start all over in the transfer portal when they don't rise to the top of the depth chart by the end of spring practice. Commitment is not the right word anymore. Too few that actually mean it.

How about “I will be loaning my services for the upcoming football season to ________”?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

By definition that's more appropriate****

...unless they yell at me or don't make me a starter before the start of summer camp, in which case I will transfer to the highest bidder.

I liked the loaning services bit!

And a lot of these kids are shocked and put off

after they get on campus and have a college coach have the audacity to jump on them and not continue telling them how great they are.

It’s really gotten to a sickening point in sports.

These are 17 or 18 year old young men who happen to have received a little extra athletic ability from God, who then in turn act as if they are doing a university a favor to attend and receive a free education, fed like a king and housed in a nice apartment for 5 years.

Only to later tell that school to go hump themselves and then proceed to get on twitter and tell everyone they’ve been used and taken advantage of.

I’m to the point of hoping the whole thing falls apart and there is a NFL minor league formed to where those types of players can bypass college. I’d rather watch young men I have some type of respect for playing in Death Valley than a bunch of pampered spoiled look at me over- hyped prima donas
