Just sit back and chill. So many forget how long a season is and how many chances there are to start to get hot and make the postseason. On top of 56 season games, there’s an ACC tournament, and it’s all the way at end of May. We’re not even close to the end. This team is so much better than people think, and pitching will get better once there’s an ace/leader.
That ace/leader is Caden Grice. If you’ve been paying attention, he’s been slowly getting his groove on the bump and yesterday it looked like it all came together. Also hitting a HR. Then with Ammons coming back likely in more of a relief role, things will be better there for sure. The great thing about Grice is we can turn to him in a single big game, like an elimination game in the conference or postseason tournament.
I’ve seen it so many times, things can flip like a switch with a baseball team after maybe a 14-5 Sunday win after losing a series. Or maybe not until the ACCT.

This year is a re-build and trying to get players to buy into a new system.
We can only hope that 2 years (next season, basically) into the rebuild we see some progress.

You are correct. Baseball teams can get hot and cold very quickly.

Yes and basketball teams can do the same. We could and should
have won the series vs GaTech and South Carolina.

If they could just get some more production from the bats with runners on base and thus run scoring when it comes to Friday night games they might be able to win a lot more series.Yes the relief/closer Pitching has let them down in the middle and ends of those Friday games but the run scoring by the opposing teams have been under 5 runs.Losing Friday night games to Central Florida 4-2,Duke(1st game of Saturday DH that was considered Friday)left 16 runners on base and lost 3-2 and lose to 4-3 to Georgia Tech.Hopefully coach Bakich and his coaching staff can get it figured out before to long and definitely before the end of the regular season.

I tend to agree with this analysis. It's going to take time to make an accurate assessment of just what Monte left us (not much, IMO). Give it another 1-2 years, and then we'll see.

Every ball club no matter the level has to "remesh" after a regime change. This will take time. The kids are learning to play with each other, learning each other, and learning how to have fun again.
Monte dumdum the holy coot era destroyed this clubs moral and team spirit.
It will take time to build back. This team is better than last months team and next months team will be even better. I cant wait to see what could become....

I agree and I don't care what anyone says.. this team is better than last year. Just look at the batting averages.. last year we were starting three players with sub .200 averages. As far as I know everyone in the lineup now is over .200.. Bertram was at .215 and he is the outlier. Pitching .. yes not great or even good part of the time, but it is coming around and is not giving up the numerous 4-5 run innings per game like last year (yes still giving up some). Baserunning.. no comparison.. miles better.

We have had a lot of pitchers that are not healthy. Most will be back soon. Ammons been out awhile, Clayton missed 2 weeks plus, Barlow is not back close to 100%. Weiss was supposed to be a stud closer but he has had back troubles. And several have not lived up to their billing. The freshman pitchers look really good except for Tristan who i think we can agree will be a stud at some point. We are not even at the halfway mark. This team will be much better in may than they are now.

It’s going to take a serious turn around for this team to make post season. I recognize that it’s just going to take a couple recruiting classes to bring in solid pitching. But definitely shouldn’t count this team out. As you said, we still have a lot more ball to play
