Tickets to Miami?
Jan 7, 2021, 1:54 PM
|
|
Hey guys, Buckeye checking in here. First I want to congratulate you on another great season. I know it didn't end the way you wanted and I certainly know the feeling.
My buddy and I are considering flying to Miami on Sunday and trying to pick up tickets down there. If we can't we will just find an Ohio State bar to watch the game in. With that being said, if anyone here bought tickets prior to the semi's I'd greatly appreciate if you let me know. Like I said, looking for two tickets, really don't care where the seats are.
Thanks guys and I hope we meet again next year!

They can always stay at Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head where all the other Ohioans congregate.

I appreciate it! I think upper deck is going to be a little more in our price range though. Definitely don't want to sell you short of what you have there.

Good luck.

I would focus on Stubhub for safety/availability reasons.
Unfort, with this being OSUs first appearance in several years, I'm sure demand will be high. Usually, if you wait until day of game, prices drop. Don't think that happens this year. With that said, haven't seen a huge rise in prices on SH since y'all won. Again, focus on SH unless you come across someone you know to be reliable.
Other suggestions: look for flights into FLL as well....may be cheaper. There's a Hooters abt 3.5 miles north of the stadium if you dont get tix. Even with reduced numbers, I would tailgate at stadium to soak in atmosphere and then leave 30 minutes prior to hit bar. Safe travels....

tickets outside the stadium and absolutely no one that I'd buy gum, much less a $2K ticket, from selling. With limited capacity there'll be fewer this year. I know someone who bought tickets outside the stadium, went in sat down, and was later ushered out of the stadium prior to kick-off because the tickets were fake. No refund on that exchange.

Agree, often Ft Lauderdale is cheaper to fly into and you're less likely to get carjacked by far than coming out of the Miami airport. If you haven't bought your airline tix, SW has some good deals which end today.
I imagine tix will stay expensive based on large OSU fanbase and number of years since OSU was in the Natty and especially with the limited attendance.
Good luck getting in, but Roll Tide!!

Yeah it looks like tickets from Detroit (where we are) to both Miami and Ft Lauderdale are $113 roundtrip via Spirit this weekend. Might have to take you guys up on the Ft Lauderdale recommendation though. Getting carjacked would put a real quick damper on the weekend lol.

Never have flown Spirit...but have heard some horrid stories about cancellations, etc.... You prob. be OK b/c they need all the $$$ they can get....but if you can fly SW for just a bit more...I would do that. Much more reliable....

Wife and I flew Spirit to Cali a few years ago for a delayed honeymoon, but that was well before Covid. Didn't have any issues then but I could certainly see cancellations being an issue nowadays.

I'm leery of airlines that hand you a bottle of water and a parachute when you board.

Pretty sure I read they buy the hand-me-down planes from other airlines.

Is it a problem if the rivets on the wing are turning? My worst experience was on Delta from Orlando to ATL. At 30 minutes into the flight, I heard a loud noise and the plane shuddered. The captain came on the intercom about 3 minutes later and tersely said, "We've lost part of one wing. We're working it out and will keep you informed." Obviously, it all worked out. An 8X10 ft portion of the R wing came off and took out some of the hydraulics. Hit the bar when we landed!

Dude I'd hit the bar real f'n hard too. There's quite a few ways I wouldn't mind going out, but helplessly crashing to the ground in a plane with zero ways to save yourself ranks right up there among my worst ways to die. Glad you made it, that's f'ed up. Some mechanic was fired hopefully.

For all that is good and holy, do not fly Spirit Airlines.
I did it once. Never again.
