Sounds familiar. Have been sick to my stomach for about a month now watching this team fumble and bumble around.

I agree. 8-29. Still pissed. Our margin for error is tiny. Seems like every turnover is disastrous. Our defense played well, at times, but forced no turnovers and couldn't make the play to force a fieldgoal when we needed it. Losing Nate at the end of regulation was critical. Betting on a kicker who has made one fieldgoal in his college career is a fatal mistake. Almost a great story.

Did OC call the run play to settle for a FG attempt at the end? That was amateur at best.

Maybe a FG kicker would have helped (and not rushing only 3 in the first half, giving Travis all day to throw).

Our defense held FSU to 17 points in regulation.
That is one heck of a defensive performance.
As for complaining about the 3 man rush, XT’s sack of Travis happened because our 8 defenders playing passing lanes + man-on-man on a couple key FSU receivers made for Travis to recognize that he couldn’t scramble for the first down (too many defenders in the zone for him to scoot by) and also gave XT time to get to Travis.

Critical mistakes.... Hall, Conn, Grisham, Austin, Goodwill, and by all means Pearman and Batson! Please correct those mistakes.

The transfer portal has enabled teams to close the talent and size gap quickly and that takes away our margin of error against good teams. We have to coach perfectly and execute perfectly to win a game like that now. That being said, we're probably having a different convo today if we make a measly 29-yard field goal with under two mins left. Hard for me to completely blame coaching for yesterday when I look at the stat sheet. There are always gonna be plays you wish you could have back.

They played for the field goal. The attempt was their plan. Bad strategy.

Wish I had Dabo's bank account to soothe my stomach since November. Bet it works better than Pepto-Bismol.

Mistakes can be summed up to poorly executed fundamentals. This team is loaded with talent. They know they’re good, but they have been dreaming of ACC championships and playoffs rather than focusing on fundamental football and winning the game you’re playing this week. That gets corrected and I swear it’s all mental, we start winning again!
The bright side is they can forget the ACC and don’t even dream about the playoffs because that isn’t even the remotest of possibilities. Win out and take the shame off of you is the new benchmark m!

D play-calling @ end of 2nd 1/2 & OT O-play-calling, awful.

On FSU's final (TD) drive of the 1st half, as soon as our D lined up for a 3 man rush, I shouted NO! You can't give Travis that much time to pick us apart. But he did. And Dabo/Goodwin didn't learn, so it happened over and over until they scored a TD. Terrible coaching.
If you didn't want Klubnik to throw the ball on 2nd-and-1, then call a $%^&ing run play.
Highly paid coaches should do better. They let everyone down, including their players.

This is one of the worst coached teams I've seen. Grisham, Spiller, Austin, Hall, Richardson, and Conn need to go. We'll be lucky to go 6-6 this year.

Its the same issues that are critical errors to me

1. Roster management continues to be poor. There are several players getting scholarships almost every year that are basically wasted. Tyson is a prime example. We don’t need to use a Schollie for a 3rd string QB. If we are down to our third string QB, the season is over anyway. 2. Clock management is horrendous per norm. Hire someone to help manage the clock better. It’s not like we can’t afford it. 3. Playing not to lose in the 4th Q. Dabo gets tight every year in key games. Just play the freaking game and stop being a putz. 4. I would love to see the average yards per play on the WR screen the past five years. If we average more than two yards per play, I would be stunned. Either fix it (which must be impossible given the relentlessly poor execution) or dump it. Please.
There was a lot to be pleased with yesterday but these are ongoing issues that must be improved upon and could be improved with ease.

The mistakes aside, I can't help but wonder why in the world were we not only trying to run out the clock but also to score a TD and put the nail in the coffin???? Why put the pressure on the shoulders of field goal kicker who's been back in school for a week!!!!!!! I am a big Dabo supporter but this has always been his one major fault, to me. Play to win the game at the end, DO NOT PLAY NOT TO LOSE!!!

We dominated most of the stats and except for a fumble and a missed kick, we played great.

To me, that loss was 100% on coaching but very little discussion of coaching mistakes by the head coach. Disappointing performance by the coaches and didn't seem to take much accountability for their mistakes. I thought the players were great for the most part.

If you start talking bad about players, you lose the team. If you start talking bad about coaches, you lose the staff. With 2/3 of the season left to play, he has to try to hold it together as the HC. And if you start talking bad about the program, you lose recruits.
I'm sure there is dressing down going on behind closed doors and there will most likely be some changes when the season is over.

Maybe there needs to be some dressing down going on in the mirror. HC hires the assistants.

No need to insult coaches. Say "I" or "WE" made mistakes.

And don't say that your coaching mistake was that you didn't teach your player not to make stupid decisions. Say something like, "Our play-calling put the players in a bad position and we coaches let them down. The players deserve better from us and we will learn from our mistakes and do better. I will do better."
