The only way I can see it happening is if the B1G0 does away with the divisions and Clemson is a two loss ACC champ or worse. If 0hi0 State and UM split regular season and championship (this would require no divisions) the committee may finally give a conference not named SEC two teams.

I don't have access to the paywall portion of the ESPN article, but according to the free intro, Connelly's analysis (though accounting somewhat for the incoming class) doesn't seem to account for what would happen if Klubnik becomes an offensive game-changer, or DJ returns to 2020 production levels. If either of those things happen, then (paired with the #1 forecasted D) Clemson would likely outperform that #5 prediction.

season? We didn't really change much at least from a personnel standpoint right? Recent history suggests that we will need our QB to throw 30+ touchdowns to get us to the CFP championship right as well as a top 10 defense.

Top 10 Defense is do-able. I think the pieces are there and barring injuries should be close to achieving that type of out put.

But 30 Td's?!? How can DJ go from 9 to 30? I expect him to improve but are we supposed to be good with him having 18-20? We can be but we won't be going to no CFP with that output and we def wont' be winning another trophy trying to win games 17-10 every week.

I really hope Cade just comes in and leaves no doubt in practice like Deshaun and Trevor did. We NEED him to "get it" quickly. The last thing we need is half the season be tainted with a loss or two to subpar teams like last season.

Hoping but don’t see Tigers making CFP “this year” due to QB being a rebuild sorta..

and didn’t realize D had so few returners overall based on a stat recently read in an ACC write-up..but do think the Dline is gonna be crazy good especially with super backups.

Saying..DJ has to improve greatly Quickly, Cade needs to fill in successively when needed and Oline needs to jell right off the bat.

Plus, two new Co-ordinators have to fire off both barrels which is not a given even though Cheez-it Bowl was nicely successful from both.

My joy, again, is the 3 RB’s with Ship1Happens being the most fun to watch since he’s like a kid in the Candy Shop..over performing so much at times he trips on himself or drops a sure pass since he’s so hyper to take it to the house.
