If you look the guys with the bigger coaches are generally at the top and the smaller programs are lower rated. Actually some guy at a small program w few resources ,may do a much better job that a big school though but they wont ever reflect that

The king of the hill rules! I wouldn’t trade Dabo for any three of the other coaches and truth be told Brent should be in the top 5 too in my opinion. Dabo has a super glued staff an every time he’s replaced a coach it has made us better.
Clemson is a really tough out for anybody in any game. Kirby(crazy the talent on his team) better make his run this year because that first game next year is going to be very difficult for UGA. I’d love to see us and the puppies in the National Championship this year.
Alabama will be loaded this year but look for Saban to retire in the next 3 years because the gap in talent he enjoyed for so long is shrinking.
Clemson wins every game forever the End! ????

If everything somehow gets back to normal, Dabos legacy will be as one of the greatest coaches to ever coach college football. Dabo will be talked about, whenever the names of Bear Bryant, John Heisman, or Knute Rockne are mentioned.

Joe Brady made Joe Burrow play like Joe Montana. That sums up LSU’s season. Ed O had nothing to do with LSU’s offense.

And now Joe Brady is gonzo, which means LSU is probably back to Joe Kapp.

Yeah, he’s a good coach but I think an important comparison is to his record at Ole Miss against David Cutcliffe’s. O did a good job putting that squad together last year, but until I see him do it again, I’m thinking he’s closer to Miles than Saban and Swinney.

They lost me at #3

I understand the argument for Saban at #1 if you're comparing career-success or even the last 10 yrs. But, the last 5 years belong to Dabo.
Which begs the question, how did Orgeron make it to #3? If you take away last season he's not even on the radar. Last year, sure. Otherwise, there's not even in a legitimate conversation for him being in the top-10.
Another worthless ranking.

yes, the Natty was a great win over a pretty dang good team & great program but 1 year doesn’t negate average coaching & teams at 2 previous programs.

See how long it took for Dabo to get the credit that he deserved, and to put Ed Orgeron anywhere close to #3 is completely/absolutely ludicrous!!!!
As much as I completely dislike Jimbo Fisher, he is more deserving of the #3 spot than Ed Orgeron should be.
Nick Saban became the Bama HC in 2007 with a win/loss record of 157–23. Dabo became the HC at Clemson in 2009 with a win/loss record of 130–31. Saban has done more than Dabo in his Head Coaching career for sure, but he has been a college HC since 1995 with one year off to coach in the NFL. Saban has been a HC for 25 year, and Dabo for 11 years.
IMO, recruiting at SEC Bama, is much easier for Saban to recruit the best players to Bama, Than it has been for Dabo coaching at ACC Clemson. Since Dabo became the HC at Clemson in 2009, his record against Saban/Bama is 2 and 2. Dabo has beat Saban/Bama in two NCG's, and Saban/Bama has beat Dabo in 1 playoff game, and 1 NCG.
I would say that Dabo and Saban are about even as Head Coaches even though Saban has been a HC longer than Dabo, and it is easier for Saban to recruit the best of the best recruits at Bama. They are both 2-2 win/loss against each other, but Dabo do have one more NCG win over Saban. Placing Saban as the #1 HC is fare, but I think that Dabo is tad better bc Saban has the edge in recruiting for SEC Bama, than Dabo recruiting for ACC Clemson, and their records are the exact same playing against each other at this point....

Ignore the garbage coach rankings. It's biased (as we all know ), so why comment. Saban's hanging on and Tide BOT can't cut him loose yet. Coach O rank is a joke as this year, if played, will prove.

No problem with the list except no way Ryan Day deserves a Top 10 with his short career. Maybe flip him and Jimbo and it would be better.

Mario Cristobal of Oregon is too low at #15. He and Paul Chryst (Wisconsin) belong in front of Jim Harbaugh and Jimbo Fisher.
I'd take Ryan Day over Brian Kelly in a heartbeat.
I think we all know Orgeron is way too high.
Jimbo's gotta produce this year in College Station. He doesn't have to win the SEC West but 4 or 5 losses won't cut it this time.

Good to see Mack Brown climb 10 spots to #14 after one season back. If we have a season this year, he’ll make the top 10.
Dabo deserves the number 1(B) spot.

What is the consensus among UNC fans on how long Mack will coach? Is there an unannounced successor in waiting?

Orgeron strikes Zeus with a really good QB paired with 1 and done O-Co and all the sudden he's one of the top 3 CFB coaches going ?
That's a pretty high placard for a guy who did next to nothing at two previous places as a HC and let's see if he can cookie-monster his way back into the CFBP this year without his engine and transmission fully in sync . I bet they lose 3 games . Orgeron might be current top 10 , but 3rd is way over his pay grade in this TNet contributor's mostly honest opinion .

As long as his (Mack)health allows it. 5 years minimum. Maybe 7-10. Mack's 5 years in broadcasting really rested him and allowed him to re set for his final act. He has as much energy as anyone on staff.
No successor in waiting will be named. Mack said one of his biggest mistakes was naming one (Muschamp) at Tejas. It sends the message that you're on the way out.
