Too good to be true or bump in the road?

Jan 17, 2023, 10:50 PM

After this game is where we are really going to assess if this has just been a good run or if this game was just a bump in the road due to injuries etc. this isn’t to be negative I’m really just hoping the season continues the way it’s been going.

Next few games will tell you that , still think this team is good but obviously not a lot of talented depth yet at guard … they just looks slow and lazy tonight honestly

Well…apparently Hemenway stepped on a roadside bomb and blew his foot off so no telling when he will be back…Galloway shoots too much when he’s just a role player at best.

Yes, guard play is not too good for us. We don’t ever seem

To have it, but is it super uncommon for teams to have Freshman come in and average like 10 points a game? We just need more bench and roll player points. Does Dillon Hunter ever score?

Very emotional game Saturday and then your point goes out with injury. On the road is tough. Teams lose. Kansas lost tonight. Texas lost tonight. Wisky beat psu.. not that big of an upset but they split the season. No worries.

And game ain't over yet.

Quick turnaround, on the road, right after a huge emotional win at home. That game Saturday was physical as well. We were banged up.

Throw in losing our point guard and a 9pm tip to boot.

This was a tough one from the jump.

So what your saying is the head coach didn’t do a good job of mentally preparing his team, getting them refocused, and preparing them for tonight.

Yeah that seems normal.

That’s not at all what was said. ##### sake, bud, get off it and go to sleep.

You said “ Quick turnaround, on the road, right after a huge emotional win at home” indicating that the team was emotionally drained and couldn’t refocus fast enough. Well bud, that’s the coach’s responsibility to coach his team out of that mindset. Enjoy the win, turn the page and be ready to battle again, whether the next day or whenever. Great teams and great coaches don’t fall into that cop out.

Having the injuries is a different story, but I will never be sold that Brad Brownell is a great coach. He’s doing a good job with a good team this year. I will give him that. But I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised by…..well let’s just watch and see….

We are a good team. Missing 2 starters

I agree we are a good team in the most potential we’ve had in many years but I have to say I have to agree that we’re also a team that if we lose 1 to 2 starters or get injury prone we are done

Well, really just one starter. No disrespect to Alex, but we're better with him as bench player.

Yep. Saw a post earlier that he may need a bit to regain his shooting stroke once he returns; you really can't play him many minutes if he's not hitting his shots. He's a defensive liability.

Well if every team we play gets the calls Wake got it doesn't matter what's true

Don’t matter if the officiating isn’t fair! I watch a lot of basketball and I can tell you there’s something weird about clemson anytime they play in NC. They always get the worst calls of any game all year. And it’s not even close. Tonight every single call seemed to go wakes way! Including fake Lebron flops leading to free throws. Just look at the fouls and free throws attempted in this game! Enough said! Our university should be irate at the ACC and it’s crooked officials. They been doing this for years

Not many teams are going to have the luxury of putting up over 80 on us by hitting 3s and getting every call under the sun. 70+ would win us a game more than not
