Tour de France bike race started today

Usually see at least one Tiger Paw flag flying during the race. Looks like a much more difficult race this year, beginning right from the first day.
Something to watch before we go to the Braves game tomorrow, where we'll be rep'n with our Braves/Tigers caps from previous ATL Clemson Club Braves games swag.

The French people could learn just a little from us and build themselves an oval track to race bikes on. By the time they take a sip of wine, all the bikes go by and they don't see them again.

You're right. I went to a bike road race like this once, and in about 3 seconds they all went by and that was it. I guess it's more about the fun and fellowship than just the event.
I have heard that there are more people in the parking lots tailgating during gametime than there are fans in the stadium. I guess those people come more for the fun than the event, too.

I have won my age group in some biathlons. I would be working near death on the bike and getting passed by all. I had the edge on the run part as most bikers are not too good at that.

Running is a lot easier than biking, surprised it’s not the other way around.

Agree. I was an above average runner, but my speed did not transition to cycling. My endurance was good enough but my bike skills, and speed couldn't match.

sporting event in the world that has been as riven with cheating over the years as that stupid bike race. Seems it is literally the proving ground for new, undetectable (at least for awhile) designer PEDs. You have to wait until about ten years after the race to see who truly won (meaning, who doped the LEAST). No Thanks.
