I feel like these 3 programs may hit a slight decline for the next year or so. Alabama has already been a little, and both UGA and OSU are losing their Heisman candidate QBs.
That said, it’s got to be the perfect storm for Cade to come in and dominate the ACC, and then take us to a National Championship. Not that the success of any other program determines our success, but it just seems to be right timing next year.

I really hope National Championship is the last thing on their minds. I'd like to see them just stay focused and prepare for what is right in front of them week to week and not get ahead of themselves.
Slow and steady wins the race...

UGA/Bama/ Ohio St. have all been picked by ESPN to repeat as National Champions in 2023. Just thought I would beat them to it so it won't be a surprise in August when they release their "predictions".

Anything can happen, but it's very unlikely UGA will decline much next year, if at all. Yes, we're losing Stetson, but no one was singing his praises this time last year. Beck has seen a fair amount of backup PT, and has performed as well as, if not better than Cade. And he'll be in year 4 in the system, which won't change much despite losing Monken. If he doesn't win the job, Vandagriff will be in year 3. In either case, they'll have a ton of talent behind them at basically every position. As usual we're loaded at RB; lot's of experience on the OL, as deep and talented as we've ever been at WR, and will have the best TE corps in the country. And Kirby will once again field a top 10 defense. Combine that with one of the easier schedules we've played in years, and we're a good bet to at least make it to the SEC-CG undefeated. Even a loss there and we're likely in the CFP.
Likewise, I don't see much drop off for Ohio St despite losing Stroud and I'm guessing Bama will be back in the mix.
I know y'all don't care about my take on your team, but I said on here many times last year that I would have like to have seen us play y'all in the CFP last year, so maybe that will happen this year. Everyone seems to think it'll be y'all and FSU in the ACC, and I've got no reason to disagree with that. But for y'all to get back to where you want to be, I think you're going to have to get better on the OL, both in talent level and blocking scheme. I don't think your WRs are at the level they were a couple years ago either, and depth at RB may be an issue. It'll be interesting to see how those things get addressed. But in any case, can't wait to play y'all in 2024!

Agree on our receiving corp, but you're not addressing the elephant in the room in our QB play the last two seasons. Yea, yea, Tenn, but we fired that OC and hired one that won the Broyles award this year
Agree regarding whether anyone here cares about your take on our team otherwise though. You're just not objective.

Your OL gave up 28 sacks last year - you were 96th nationally in sack rate on passing downs. And you were barely in the top 50 in rushing offense. That's not subjective, those are just the numbers.
It wasn't all on DJ.

Those emotions getting to you. Typical troll. Why can't you keep on topic (you know, football) as you've pee-peed your panties about in other posts. Maybe you just don't know much about football? Or maybe you are just a redneck when it comes to communicating with humans that don't share your affinity..

isn't DJ? You're such a weenie. Always with the name calling. Nothing I've written in the thread is anything remotely close to being a troll. Not a word. You're like a little middle school girl. You're the one all up in your feelings over accurate and unbiased criticism of your team. And yes, I know you hired Riley. Before TCU, he had worked with Dykes at SMU, as well as CO-OC and OL coach AJ Ricker. He had worked with his WR coach previously at Kansas. Those guys knew each other and had worked together. He'll be in year 1 at Clemson You also kept your OL coach, which is why I said it'll be interesting how the OL gets addressed. Riley is the newcomer, so how will he mesh with the rest of the staff? That's not a troll, that's an important question. If you weren't such a crybaby, you'd realize that.

Oh chit, 😂
Nobody called you a name. I get your victim schtick as a defense at this point since you've accepted the position as poster child for hypocrisy, but I posed a hypothetical based on your pedestrian troll routine. Only you have called anyone any names. Dig deep, You'll see it. I'm glad you've got the googles which make you feel relevant. My drunk mother-in-law can recount every detail when she's been called Out too. Names, dates, etc, cept it's not relevant and, oh yea, NOBODY asked!!! Let's not revisit your pension for narrative though. Especially when you've been repeatedly chock/slammed after using it as a projection, sport.
Ha ha, you think the definition of a troll has anything to do with when you trolls decide to troll??? If You're a troll, you're a troll. I don't give a chit if 99 out of 100 posts are pro Clemson. It's ignorant, at best, to think otherwise, which is another indicator of your capacity, no offense.
I bet you're the genius of whatever Mutt meda your fans can access. Is it all shapes and colors? Not sure, I don't troll other programs' boards.

Is "redneck" not name calling? Whatever. You just can't handle valid and accurate critique of your team. I guarantee you your coaches are looking at those things. Get off your pathetic troll mantra and just answer the question. In what way do you think those things get addressed?

Oh yeah, absolutely. But having a certain comfort level impacts how well you can read the defense when the bullets are flying. Going way back to our game in '21, DJ got sacked on your first two possessions. When your head is on a swivel and you're running for your life, your decision making gets imnpacted. Yes, DJ had some head scratchers, but your OL was notably more porous, and your rushing offense was notably less effective over the last 2 or 3 years than in say, 2018. It's all related. Maybe Riley gets that fixed in year 1, and that's why I think it's a point of emphasis for y'all this year. Cade's a good QB, but he can't do it all by himself.

When your QB stands back and holds the football for too long sacks will result.
Rushing game should have been better if they would have used it.

Well RedDawg when a defense doesn't have to worry about the pass from any QB (in this case DJ), then stopping the run is so much easier. And when the QB can't make a quick decision and holds the ball too long, sacks go up. It's not rocket science.

Anyone who thinks UGA isn't gonna miss Todd Monken next year is crazy.
UGA is going to take a step back for sure. You could be right about Bama, and OSU, but UGA is in uncharted territory. Reminds me a little bit of LSU/Joe Brady.

Yes, we will miss Monken. No question. He was clearly one of the best OC's we've had here. The question is by how much? This time last year everyone was saying we'd be a 1-hit wonder because we lost our defense. Didn't happen. We may not be quite as effective on offense, but do you really think we're gonna drop to the 5-6 win level like LSU did? We may or may not 3-peat, but we'll be in the running.

Exactly my point. UGA might be back as soon as next year, but Kirby ain't exactly an offensive genius.
I think UGA has enough talent to not miss the playoffs next year, but it's not set in stone.
You're always one AVERAGE QB, or Coordinator away from missing the playoffs altogether.
Just ask Dabo, or Saban. Dabo had his most talented team EVER in 2022 and he went 11-3, then got blown out in a bowl game. Call it recruiting misses, bad coaching, lack of chemistry, whatever....it happens.

According to the composite of all recruiting services (247...) it was.
I'm not sure what metric you're using, but on paper that was his highest rated team top to bottom (and one could make the same argument for the previous years team also).
Recruiting trophies, and all the talent in the world won't do much good if your coaching, and/or QB play ain't up to snuff.

Of the 3 you mentioned , I think the bucknuts takes the most decline. Their defense never really improved and they are losing Stroud and some others on offense. Bama is Bama and they are well coached and always finds a way to be there in the end. How much improved the rest of the SEC is what they need to look out for. UGA they still have a championship defense coming back along with a monstrous OL and studs at RB. They may not put 40 or 50 points up every game but with that defense they won't have to. All that being said only thing we need to worry about is Clemson. Play one game at a time, improve one game to the next. Avoid the injury bug and we will be better than fine.

UGA, Bama, and ohio State have strong fan support like Clemson, and much stronger media support than Clemson. Makes them a recruiting force.
