If our O-Line goes against the best D-Line in practice every day

How does Alabama push us around so much? Is Bama PED induced ? Do they overdose on pixie sticks full of sugar?

Etienne got banged up and Tee Higgins went out. Those two guys were a big part of the game plan.. especially Higgins. He was going to be how we stretched the field and kept Bama's Def honest. It almost worked once on a missed PI call but Higgins got hurt and after that Bama just brought the house.
Also, Bama's guys looked fresher than ours.. we looked tired.

I'd add the drop by Cain on 3rd & long - which was the biggest play, or misplay, of the game. There was also the revenge factor for Bama. I don't think the score was indicative of the difference in the two teams. It just wasn't our day

As great as our coaches have been I don't think we had a PLAN B when we couldn't get the ball down field we were just 1 dimensional plus they were just bringing the heat because our O-line was outplayed that night.
No I am not a coach it IMHO.

I still don't think Bama deserved to be in the CFB playoff, based on their resume, but they were the team I least wanted us to face, and it turns out they were the best team.

I 100% agree with you. This play was extremely important early on and we never could get out our one 1/3 of the field

Because we couldn't get Alabama out of the box.
If we had started hurting them down the field, that would have been a different story, but we didn't. That drop didn't help but we weren't hitting the downfield strikes we needed to hit to back Alabama off.
You let Alabama load the LOS and you aren't hitting what's open downfield, you're going to have a Very Long Day...and we did.

People forget that this is what Alabama does, this is Saban's m.o. They'll find a weakness and suffocate you for 4 quarters. If you're going to beat them you have to be multi dimensional, it starts in the trenches but if you can't stretch the field it'll be game over every time. And what's scary is they have a bonafied QB now. We were able to keep the game somewhat respectable because Jalen was not a threat down field.

I'd imagine some of it has to do with the players intimately knowing each others tendencies when they practice against each other. When going against players they only see once a year that's a totally different animal.

He delivered most of his punishment in 2nd half. We didn’t have him and our hopes of any run game were in Etienne and that didn’t get a chance to get going. Then of course not having DW leading the charge and refusing to lose along with Mike & Jordan it just wasn’t our night bc the year before Bama was pushing us around that game too but we had the play makers to get us out of trouble.

Field position was a huge part of that game and really impacted our play calling and ultimately our O Line as well.

I guess their d-line pretty much goes up against just about the best o-line in practice every day. Plus that extra week of rest really helped them I think. And they knew if they got in the playoffs they''d probably be facing is, so an extra week of game planning as well.
