Was at game this past Saturday. Have to say

some things I had read before going that I thought might be hyperbole proved not to be:
1. To my amazement, there literally is a "Please do not throw liquor bottles in the toilet" message on the wall above each toilet. Not on a piece of paper, no...but painted on the wall...for permanent, long-term use. Wow. Although I didn't witness evidence of a mindless deposit of liquor bottles in a toilet, my husband did find beer cans in the urinals. I would think one would sufficiently learn what to throw and what not to throw in toilets at such a young age that proper toilet use would be automatic, whether with full or dulled faculties.
2. A significant proportion of fans were indeed intoxicated to varying levels. Or they acted like it. At least the ones I was around were. It may be where I was sitting. This is based on my assumption that they wouldn't act so abrasive and confrontational if sober. (Yes, I am well aware of how much drinking happens at all college tailgates/games, including at Clemson.) See #3 below.
3. I really was surprised over how, whether young or old, the NC State fans seemed uninhibited in being aggressive or insulting. No, it wasn't that each person I encountered was that way directly toward me, but the overall crowd seemed "edgy." I was specifically hounded by three separate individuals, but I am happy to say our vehicle was not vandalized, and we safely made it back to the hotel.
By the way: I sure hope we don't have many Clemson fans who act that way. And while I am somewhat reserved around strangers, I think I may make a deliberate attempt in the future to speak to opposing teams' fans, just in case they encounter a drunk, obnoxious Clemson fan.
Having confirmed what I had heard as true, I will say, however, that I found the stadium to be decent. I smelled no urine (lol), although I understand there is a history of that. Perhaps it's because I deliberately held my breath in that vicinity?
Also, I will say that the parking wasn't too bad at all. However, someone had a mess to clean up afterward as there was a lot of trash left in the tailgating areas. Clemson truly is a special place, especially regarding tailgating.
Regarding the game itself, I know I am spoiled when I say that it was frustrating that we had an off night on defense and special teams. So glad our offense carried the team. In the past, our defense has had to do that, so it is only fitting that our offense returned the favor. That is is the very essence of teamwork, though, right?

My past 3-4 experiences in Raleigh have been terrible. However, I had nice fans all around me for the most part. Nobody yelled when we were walking in or out.
I think I just got lucky.

Buddy of mine and I were hounded all day. Was nice being able to point to the scoreboard though at the end. NC state has been terrible every time I've went.

I have to say I was concerned about my first trip to NC State but to be honest I didn't have one bad encounter with any NC State fans. Of course I was surrounded by Clemson fans as well but the NC state fans around me were nothing but polite. The guy on the end of our row was an NC State fan and was joking around and told me the guy he had given a ticket to that was sitting beside me was a Gamecock fan. Told me to swing at him first if things got crazy. I went out to eat after the game and was seated right next to a guy who was decked out in NC state gear. Waitress asked when she seated me if their was gonna be a problem and he was the first one to jump in and say no, everything was gonna be good. I was impressed with the way Clemson fans travel. Place was full of tigers.

We made the mistake of parking on the west side of the stadium which meant we walked thru the area where most of the students seemed to be tailgating. They tried to talk a little smack, but most were so drunk it didn't make any sense and for the most part we just laughed at them which just made them mad. What we couldn't get over was the trash, both before and after the game, and how it didn't seem to bother them. Maybe they don't care because it's "off campus" but I'm glad I've never seen tailgate areas at Clemson look like that...disgusting.

My wife and I were at the game Saturday. We stayed at Harrison Oaks area which is next exit off 40. We were fortunate to have gone to a Triangle Clemson Club event before the game which had a meal and shuttle to and form the game which was very nice. Bought tickets from a NCS season ticket holder in section 227 which was right beside the one of the Clemson sections(section 9) where the Clemson band was. Good seats which had backs and arm rest. Sat beside two nice NCS fans and enjoyed the game. There were several fans in the area who were shouting and trying to intimidate, but they had had enough by the 3rd quarter. Thankful that we did not encounter any of the things we had read on the internet. Definitely recommend finding the local Clemson Club and taking advantage of their experience and camaraderie. GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's sad that a permanent sign has to be put up to let FULL GROWN ADULTS know to not put liquor bottles in a toilet. Seriously, it's their stadium, why would you want to trash it? It sounds like going to a permanent fair where the trashy crowd is gonna be there and act all trashy like. Sad.

Some people seem to go looking for problems.

along with Maryland when they were here. NCST fans remind me a lot of chicken fans, they run that mouth like they have been significant, but they are nothing compared to us, or anyone really.
We are 55-28-1 against them all time, and have won 12 out of the last 13! 12 out of 13, just let that sink for a moment.

Was our first time goining also. The only encounter we had with an NC STATE kid was the night before at dinner. He saw us and stopped at our table talk so trash but we were able have a few laughs with him and keep things light hearted; being a bus boy was paying the bills we guessed. What we found out from him is the students have a designated area to "party" and it is away from the numbered parking spots where the big money is. It seems that the University encourages stupid by their students. Just looking at how they place visitors and their own students let's you know trouble could happen easy. Lucky for us the two jacka $$$ were a few seats down and left in the third quarter like the rest of their fan base while the Alumni around us were incredibly nice and stayed the entire game. We did go back to the restaurant to eat and let him know the Tigers won.

21 years, and I still love Clemson/Anderson county, I will always consider SC home. I think most of you know this but after driving and working in the triangle for the first 4-5 years in NC I quickly realized NCS state smells, acts and looks like the Coots. Basically, wolfeees = cooties,
the heels are the heels= wine &cheese at winning games if weather is good, loyal only to basketball unless they win in football then back to fair weather cheese & wine( no standing, the ladies are drinking)
Duke is Furman any way you look except they have 9 billion from an estate in the coffers, the interest is nice.
Wake Forest is Daniel High School with less fan support.,. The 26 fans the have out of 3000 students are loud on social media/forums so sad but the have old RJ Reynolds money /interest.( they don't spent their money on athletics)
The App Mountaineers and East Carolina are tiny versions of Clemson in that their fan base loves them and supports them, truth is no place like Clemson. Clemson is the best ever!!
We have the very best of everything at Clemson, Class. Love, Talent and an alumni that is second to none investing in the most special place on earth!

Parked near fraternity row, tailgated at basketball arena with NCSU fans, and sat in stands near NCSU fans.
No one single incident.

walking from the RBC Center to the stadium, it was about as benign and genial a trip to Raleigh that I have ever experienced.
Most seemed prepared for the inevitable.

We were in section 28 which is on the 50 yard line in the upper deck on the home side. We were obviously surrounded by Wolfpack fans but other than a couple guys shouting out smart ### comments, we didn't have a single issue. We wondered around the stadium in and out of tailgates without a single issue. I won't go back though. Unless you're tailgating, there's not a single place to hangout around the stadium. It's not like Clemson where you can go downtown or to the Esso. Also, it annoyed me that they seldom showed replays.
