Dang, that's really fn good Wayne! The record for RB at the combine is 30. Only Perine is expected to top that. 21 reps at 215 is strong!

I'm old, white, and out of shape and I get 16. 17 on a good day.
Cfb skill players don't focus on this lift. If they did, rb would all get 28+ and DB would get 25ish. It's an unfair measure imo, but very entertaining.

If you can do 16, I'm pretty sure you've focused on it lol.

I have focused on it, but these guys are doing cleans, agility , squats, deadlifts, etc. I got 24 in my heydey, before making babies and not sleeping. I also weigh 232, so you have to classify me with Boulware, who I'm guessing will get close to 30.

I'd say ignore you can put up 225 16 times then you are doing very well for yourself.....or do the skills guys only do 185?

16 times is pretty good...I weigh between 240 and 270 depending on how active I'm being and I can probably still do close to that...and I weigh probably 25 pounds more than that guy. The point is, though, if these guys were really focused on doing more they would but there just aren't many situations where a guy is lying flat on his back on a football field, trying to raise his arms up with heavy stuff in them, so football players really don't focus on it (at all) like they used to. Go to any Gold's Gym and you'll see plenty of regular meatheads doing 400+, and they can probably crank 225 for a half hour or so.

How many of those meatheads have 32 5/8" arms and only weigh 215lbs though? That's the question. I think 21 reps for Wayne was pretty darn good. He tied for 6th in one of the best RB classes in over a decade. I was surprised Perine didn't break the record, he only got 9 more than Wayne and Perine weighs 233 with 3" shorter arms.

Just to clarify, I think Wayne put up a great number. He's tall and long and relatively lean and 21 is awesome.

I've never understood the bench press as a measureable for a football player ... particularly a running back.
Sort of like their 100 meter time.

Growing up I was always just naturally very strong in my upper body. When I was 151 weighed 155 lbs. I could do 290 one time. I could do 225 around 6 times. As I got older and had kept working out the best I ever did was 355 for 1 rep and I weighed 200. I'm 6 ft tall. I tried to rep 225 one time after I had already done 3 sets on bench and I got 19 reps. I wish I had just warmed up and not gone heavy before trying it. I am not bragging about anything I used to do. I've now had 4 back surgeries as I have stated on here before. I guess reminiscing is fun. Lol.
For the record I think what Gallman did is very impressive. Isn't that more than what Clowney did?

Dang - that's awesome for The Train.
Those 12-oz. curls always worked best for me, so I just became a Jedi master at doing that.
