Possible ways to win the Atlantic

There are two ways we can win the Atlantic. Wake beats State, Wake loses to BC and we beat Wake and we are higher in the CFP poll. This may be a tough one because it doesn't seem that we would be higher than State and Wake in the polls if all of the above happens. Of course if State loses two more conference games and we beat Wake and Wake loses to BC we win the Atlantic. At least this one would take it out of the CFP pollsters hands. Both could happen but still a long shot.

Even if NC State only loses one more game, and if Wake loses to Clemson + another team, all of the ACC Atlantic teams will be so far down on the CFP list that I can't see it mattering about which among Clemson, NCState, and Wake has the highest CFP ranking.
Other than NC State losing two more games, and Wake losing to us and another ACC game, I can't see us getting in via a 'popularity' vote.

We wouldn’t need to. State would have three

conference losses and Wake two where we would win the head to head with them.
So Wake beats Nancy at home-check.
We beat Wake at home-check.
Nancy loses to UNC-check.
BC beats Wake at home-check..

Why does The ACC web site and others have Wake’s record when it is clearly 5-1 with wins over FSU, UVA, Louisville, Syracuse, and Duke (5 wins) and a conference loss to UNC?? If WF beats NC State and Clemson beats WF, it really doesn’t matter what WF does ar BC, does it? The real problem is that NC State has to lose two of their three remaining ACC games since Clemson doesn’t,t have the tiebreaker versus NC State ( State has to have 3 conference losses!!!

The Wake-UNC game was a non-conference game between two ACC teams. Does not count in conference standings. Wake has 8 ACC games. They scheduled UNC as a non-conference game.

Why should any ACC team be allowed to schedule another ACC team in a Non-Conference slot?
This makes no cents and should be discontinued immediately.

For the 12th time, I'll answer this question (as others have done too).
JK, it just seems that frequent.
Wake and UNC have a long-standing rivalry that has suffered from being in opposing divisions since the ACC split. UNC chose to request NCSt as their annual cross-division opponent, which means they only play Wake once every 6 seasons in regular rotation.
UNC and Wake petitioned the ACC to allow each other to be one of their 4 self-scheduled opponents, and the ACC said "yes". It has happened twice now, and I read somewhere that 2 more games--another Home/home pairing--are scheduled within the next decade.
I don't see what the problem is. Since even the home teams probably stay in a hotel the night before the game, they don't even get an unfair savings on the travel expenses.

Some longtime ACC rivals (particularly in N Carolina) no longer play each other regularly (let alone every year) because of how ACC Divisions now line up. Therefore, they periodically choose to schedule their traditional ACC rivals as non-conference games. It gets confusing sometimes when ACC vs non-ACC categories play into ACC Division races. However, I (for one) favor traditional ACC rivals being able to play each other periodically as non-conference opponents!
