Old buddies.....but it never ceases to amaze me how many new friends you can make when you take a " Vinegar Pie" with you! Jimmy Howard polished off all that was left!

He’s a good fellow. His dad Ted bought the place from a Mac years ago. Ted was ornery. It’s a shame. Most of the people who profess not to like Macs were probably past victims of a Ted incident.

2 eggs
1 stick real butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tablespoon white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 cup sugar
Let eggs and butter come to room temp. Blend thoruoughly in a mixer. Pour into a pet ritz pie crust and back for one hour at 350 degrees. Simple as that. Best way to polish off a piece of fried chicken that you ever ate.

Last time I et there,
I enjoyed/was horrified watching the owner feed table scraps to the buzzards perched in the lifeless trees behind the joint.
Some people feed starlings and cardinals.
Mac's is clearly thinking bigger.
Certainly made an impression on the kinfolk in town for a visit.
Tater tots are still worth it tho.
Maybe one day I'll muster the huevos needed to order a milkshake.

It was kinda cool in the 70s, just as an alternative to the

lack of choices back in the day. Chanelo's, Study Hall, Waffle House, etc. But the food was never that good unless you were drunk/stoned/etc. Sort of a Pete's knockoff. Burger with onion rings kinda place. Not bad, but needed a ton of ketchup and a major buzz.

Clemson student from 95-98 and about 4-8 of us would go to Mac’s. Everyone ordered a burger and fries with….you guessed it….milkshakes.
Cuss words and thrown dishes when he realized we weren’t joking. We REALLY did want milkshakes.
Food was good, but we just laughed and had a great time regardless.
