If two young poor boys in or around Clemson would have done what that half raised wealthy boy done with Howard's Rock, they would have gotten much more than what the Rogers basturd got. And if their parents would have interfered with the investigation by advising the boys to not cooperate with the law the way daddy basturd had done, they surely would have would have been sentenced to jail time and a fine. It's a shame that we have poor justice, and wealthy justice!!!

100% agree with that statement. If they were black there would have been jail time

Now that they are admittedly guilty, give 'em a stiffer sentence if they don't return the pieces.

wrote In All the King's Men - A diamond ain't a thing in the world but a piece of dirt that got awful hot...It's what you do with the dirt that matters. There are millions of diamonds but only one Howard's Rock. Nearly every Tiger knows that rock is priceless. How the judge decided the value of the damage was less than $2000 is a crime itself. Was the father charged with hindering the investigation? Sad affair from beginning to end

They should all be sentenced to 24 months of breaking rocks. Hard labor.

Not that big a deal! ... time to move on! Let it go!

These guys are complete "terds" who need to pay a legitimate price for vandalizing a sacred tradition at Clemson.
I don't know what that price is, but I do know that nothing that they did to "The Rock" has had any adverse affect on the fortunes of Clemson on the field of play.
We've had three of our best seasons ever during the time since this vandalism took place. If some jack-wad vandalizing "The Rock" can produce 14-win seasons that end up in the national title game, maybe we should stop worrying about it so much.
Honestly, "The Rock" is cool! It's a great tradition and it gets the team and the crowd jacked up before each home game. But, we won a ton of games and went to (and won) a lot of bowl games before "The Rock" was even in place and we've now done the same thing since it's been "chipped" by that jerk-off.
"The Rock" is still there. It's Mojo is stronger than ever!
Time to just fine these azzholes, ban them from campus forever, and put the case to bed.
Move on!! ... we've got bigger and better things to do than worry about it any longer.

The tradition involving Howard's Rock is a lot of things, but "sacred" is not one of them. Yes, it is a wonderful tradition, but it's still a rock. It has no magic powers.

... ie. "sacred" = worthy of veneration, and evidently a lot of people think "The Rock" is indeed worthy of veneration, but my post clearly stated that there appear to be no magical powers involved.
