what basis is it that our regional was so easy? most experts (D1, BA, CB360) all ranked our regional as in the top 1/3 most difficult. the combined rpi of the teams in our regional was lower than Clemson's regional.

you didn't look hard enough obviously. The final NCBWA, Coaches Poll, and Baseball America poll all had them ranked in the top 20.

those rankings were not updated for conference tournament results. you need to go to each site and check the May 30 rankings. BA was the only one that had them ranked and that was at 24.

so now we agree, they were not a consensus top 20 team. they were also not ranked higher than uncw in the rpi, which is the most definitive source - from the committee chair's mouth.

I'll admit that I used the ncaa website thinking it was the most up to date info and it was not. Doesn't change my contention that OK. ST. was ranked higher.
However, you said "I don't see a single ranking service or rpi that had ok state ranked" which was completely wrong.
Also, which RPI had UNCW higher?

The South Carolina regional may have been easier, but Clemson not get to claim that when you get beat handedly twice to a team with a similar rpi as UNCW.

IDK - Ok. St only played 3 games and the coots had to play 5 and only finished up today with Clate's little brother pitching again today. State's pitching looked good against us.

Well we didn't even see their top 2 pitchers , we got beat by their closer in game 1 and by their #3 guy in game 2 .
The coots will see their ace (B12 Pitcher of the Year ) and their #2 who might be better than anything the Coots have to counter with .
OSU is a significantly better pitching team than the Coots .
This one comes down to fewer defensive mistakes and who gets the timely hits .

Clemson did take 2 of 3 from the coots. Regardless of rather they beat Oklahoma st. Clemson proved during the season to be better then the Coots.

indicate they are better than us. They won an easy regional that had no one the level of OKSt in it. Their only advantage is, they are playing at home, where they are pretty tough. But if the OKSt pitchers pitch like they did at Clemson, they will be hard to beat.

This time last week it was all Duke was going to send us packing because they were vastly underrated playing in the best conference in college baseball.

I think there was one point difference in the RPI of OK State and UNCW. Also Duke was in our regional who beat you during the regular season.

in terms of predictive value at least. We won the season series with the Coots again, which is great, but you can't definitively say that Clemson is a better overall team than SC because of 3 games played early in the season.
