Funny you mention Alex Jones in relation to that website...

One of the site's "editorial members" biography says that "(Gabriel) Keane’s work has been featured on Infowars, and covered by The Alex Jones Show."
They think that's a qualification.
Check out the site's editor-in-chief, Tom Pappart's qualifications:
Tom Pappert – Tom Pappert, National File’s Editor-in-Chief gained his interest in politics and political journalism as a teenager during the Republican primaries in 2011 as a supporter of Dr. Ron Paul. In 2015, Pappert began a viral Facebook page supporting President Donald Trump.
By 2020, his Facebook page had been deleted and reinstated by the platform six times. This led Pappert to begin writing for various publications in 2018, tracking the moves made by big tech platforms. Prior to launching National File, Pappert’s work has been featured in Breitbart, Big League Politics, and Infowars.
Bizarro world.

children to be smaller. But we hopefully are not ingesting the masks, that would not be proper usage. Plastics in our oceans is a problem though, people who subsist on fish as a primary staple are believed to consume up to a teaspoon of plastic a week.
But I look at the bright side, this may be what it takes to get conservatives on board with recycling, a lot of them already have their backs against the wall on this one.

The ratio is indeed pretty bad. I think I heard something like seven or nine per cent or some such. I mean, it's a minor dent but not much more than that.

This is one of those great "scientific" articles...

that make a headline sounds like there has been direct research, only really there are 2 different pieces mentioned and the article itself is making the connection between the 2.
I suspect most people reading "news" on this kind of site aren't going to click the link and read the actual piece on micro-plastics in facemasks...which is clearly discussing the impact on the environment from the handling of face masks in solid waste....not breathing through them.
This is a classic "hoax" type article that preys on the weak-minded and intellectually lazy.

Tom is weak-minded and intellectually lazy? No!
I mean, I tried to help him ghostwrite his own manifesto just this weekend and he ghosted me. Those wounds are still fresh. (Sniff!) I was only trying to help!
I mean, how he can he be a Serious Anarchist if he doesn't even have his own manifesto? (Standards, people!)

take unrelated "science"...pretend the data is relatable and call that "science."
Then make fun of "science."
It's no wonder you believe the things that you claim to believe. I can see how easy it must be for you to be misled.

I read the 2 pieces referenced in the article you posted and explained why it doesn't make sense to tie them together and why the headline was misleading.
You didn't reply substantively, but rather "muh science". You don't seem capable of defending your positions in your own words with any kind of rational structure.
Seriously, explain to me in your own words how the referenced piece on surgical mask solid waste impacting aquatic life is at all applicable/relatable to actually using these masks. Where do either of the referenced pieces show that breathing through surgical masks pass the chemicals that were mentioned to the wearer of the mask?
