noticed a public statement from a prosecutor's witness. I don't recall a time when the prosecutor and a witness had a personal relationship either. Word is they've worked together for 30 years. That's a new one on me too.

Don't prosecutors and police and professional (psychologists, ballistic experts, etc.) witnesses have professional relationship all of the time?

After watching Comey's testimony last week, do you believe he blatantly lied on the stand under oath?

I'll say this...
Jun 12, 2017, 10:01 AM
|
|
Earlier under oath Comey stated that no one had ordered him to stop an investigation. In his last testimony he appeared to change his testimony. Some of his visits had passed when he first testified before congress.
When a man lies he is a liar. I know because I'm a liar at heart. I must have been born that way. At times I have to make myself tell the truth. It's often uncomfortable even to the point of being painful. However, over the years I have learned that I can not get away with lying. It seems I've always been exposed.
But, God is good to me. He knows my nature and makes sure I get away with very little. That's another reason I believe as Prod that God doesn't love everyone. Some people can lie and 'nothing,' they get away with it.
We'll see.

Trump asked Comey to reveal that Trump wasn't the subject of the Russia collusion. If you'll consider that trump is a human you can appreciate that anyone in those circumstances would want it revealed that he wasn't even being investigated much less to proclaim his innocence.
Comey couldn't in good faith proclaim Trump was innocent. There's no way to substantiate such a claim. He could have said Trump wasn't being investigated. That may have been against FBI protocol but Comey doesn't seem above breaking protocol after the Hillary debacle.
Btw, Trump didn't need a reason to fire the director of the FBI. The Dir, serves at the discretion of the POTUS. Trump is the POTUS and the Russian/Trump collusion story would have been the subject of any such statement.

Nobody is arguing against this. The point is that he had admitted to firing Comey over the "Russian thing". The timing and the circumstances make this look like a very questionable move.
Trump can most definitely fire the FBI Director at his discretion. He can also be investigated for obstruction of justice as a result of this move.

Let me say this with fewer words.

Comey was fired for not telling the American people that Trump wasn't being investigated for collusion with Russia. Russia/Trump collusion would have been the topic had Comey discussed this in front of a camera and mic.
If you want a short concise response this is The End!!! -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The brave might choose to read on for more idle speculation.
From Trump's perspective he did the right thing for firing Comey and telling the truth:
1. The truth is that Trump wasn't being investigated for collusion with Russia and Comey confirmed that under oath.
2. Trump has lawyers and the AG to advise him so he weighed the results of firing comey against allowing the media and democrats to continue to produce fake news which tied him into a Russian collusion scheme.
3. May have reacted as I would being that we are near the same age and seem to have about the same grasp on behaving with political savvy. If for no other reason I would have fired Comey for holding his tongue then told the media and dems to suck it, called them liars in public, accused them of conducting a witch hunt in public and continued on my bidness of presidenting.

Nothing prevented Trump, Sessions or Rosenstein from saying it publically.
Swing and a miss.

Trump said he was innocent and you ignored him.

Tell me why you wouldn't have ignored him had he said he wasn't under investigation? Let me answer that for you.
You would have claimed he ordered the investigation into his participation in the collusion halted and was guilty of obstruction of justice.
Sessions recused himself from the investigation because he knew dems would say, 'The fix is in,' had he participated.
Dems don't follow rules, if they want something know they just leak it. One of those rapscallions admitted he'd leaked to the news while under oath a few days ago. Remember?

Comey testified in front of the Senate, Mueller was appointed by Rod Rosenstein. They're both career lawyers and former directors of the FBI, so what are the odds they'd have a relationship?

Just say it. You're a pro-Trump guy. You're willing to spin the news to fit your narrative just like the libs spin the news to fit theirs.
My only challenge is that, on both sides, spinning by it's nature highlights some facts and discards others.
It's ok, we all feel strongly about this issue. We're American's, we love to hate the president.
The right hated Clinton The left hated Bush The right hated Obama Now the left, the middle and the independents hate Trump.

I am always going to try and see Trump's side.
I didn't hate Clinton until he lied about having sex with that woman. A BJ is sex to the recipient. Maybe not to the provider but certainly to the recipient.
I soon got over it after he left office in lieu of his personality.
