I surely hope so. It is well known that is the one job he wants more than any other. But it's also been reported that he is not even being considered as a candidate. But that's the funny thing about rumors, they stir everyone up, even without any base.
We shall see.

Bama will gladly pay the buyout in a few years when Bama fans get use to a 7-5 season, no SECCCG and no invite to a 12 team playoff.
No way a top ten coach is dumb enough to follow a legend like Saban. He is the second best coach of his generation.

Bama has no interest in Kiffin. There's some bad blood from Lane's departure from Bama to HC at FAU. Bama was ready for him to leave and Kiffin took some shots at Bama to a SI reporter.

They will come to terms that he’s there best option to win and all will be water under the bridge. Winning trumps all else and I honestly believe he could win big there given the resources at his disposal. He’s probably hit his ceiling at Ole Miss

I'm hearing Lane is not as liked and respected by Bama administration as many would think.
Latest I'm hearing is Norvell is a serious candidate, but fans are trying to pull a Tennessee on him, and this concerns Bama administration.
Right now, the Vegas betting favorite, for whatever that means, is Deboer.

1) Offensive Coordinator for Saban for 3 years and won 2 Nattys
2) He’s already hit his ceiling at Ole Miss and anything less than sustained success there will be viewed as an abject failure.
3) Is young enough to be a 20 year answer if he works out
4) Already proven he can recruit, coach and win in the SEC
5) Has proven he’s very adept at utilizing the portal and quickly filling holes on his roster quickly and effectively.
6) Has won everywhere he’s been. Winning rules over all else IMO
