ever since Lou took his group of crooks up there

Aug 31, 2012, 2:12 PM

and got whipped....lol

Vandy hasn't been the same since..:)

Everything is tougher in the S.E.C.

Aug 31, 2012, 2:30 PM

10 of their fans are louder then 10k from the ACC.

The atmosphere at Vandy is insane. The moment I saw "SEC" painted on the turf I was like "Whoa, this is gonna be crazy. Where are my earplugs"?

Personally, I'm in favor of making all schools not playing in the SEC Div II.

that place was not loud at all

Aug 31, 2012, 2:32 PM

excuses, excuses...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can only remember them being loud for one 3rd down

Aug 31, 2012, 2:40 PM

The rest of the time I was wondering why the crowd wasn't into the game.

Compares to Duke football

Stadium size and environment...

Not really a valid comparison

Aug 31, 2012, 3:09 PM

I walked into Vandy's stadium a couple of summers ago while in Nashville. It's definitely a small stadium but it's at least a FOOTBALL stadium, not a track that just happens to have a football field in the middle of it like Duke's. It's a nice facility and you can tell they put some effort into it. I'd compare it more to Boston College than Duke.

It resembled Duke a lot on TV

Aug 31, 2012, 3:50 PM

I've never been to Vandy, but have visited Duke. The stadium sizes do compare if you check.

Stadium size, sure. That's not what I was talking about though. Stadium atmosphere, Vandy beats Duke hands-down. Like I said, it actually feels like a football stadium and not an afterthought.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They had almost 40,000

nerds in the stands. If that isn't hostile, then I don't know what is.

Vandy as fire breathing sec monsters if they have a winning season.

You are really reaching when you use that as an excuse.

when I heard that and saw the front row body painted geeks got their paint washed off by the shower in the first qtr

The last 3 years South Car. has had a harder time beating Vandy then they have beating Clemson.

About 10:15 last night after they barely escaped that most intimidating environment!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm guessing when they lowered the academic standards

Aug 31, 2012, 4:09 PM

for entrance into Vandy? LOL! If I was a Vandy alumn I don't know whether I'd be happy or PO'd about my fball program getting stronger while the overall academic side side of my alma-mater suffers. They're not really looked at as an athletic institution in my eyes but I guess you can't have it both ways. I love us to do well in fball but I think it's because we've tasted success before....and I'm pretty sure CU isn't getting easier to get accepted to.

SPOT THE DERN BALL!

No, they are just getting easier to beat.

Maybe it's just that they are SEC loud, thus 35k sounds like 80k anywhere else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

SEC noise.***
